I am afraid this is tacit approval of all the games this team started late and never even approached playing 40 minutes letalone 60! I don't have a problem resting guys but imo these guys gave Jesper ZERO Team support in Nashville and that is a situation where unnecessary injuries happen and I was horrified at how vulnerable they left Jesper time and time again. I don't have any misgivings about saying this: Gus looks INCAPABLE! The pattern has 4 months of deteriorating performance, dropping 3 games with multi goal leads…every one of them behind Gus! I think there's a big lie behind it. Gus needs to be on the hotseat before any consideration of starting in goal! 1) The Vegas incidet 2) Bailing in Chicago without a word to Hynse??? 3) Hurling in the crease and 4) Performance 4 out of his last starts giving up almost 20 goals… That body of evidence screams he is #2!
Agreed, with home-ice-advantange off the table gotta rest key players or those perennial injury-prone guys like Brodin…….Gus will get the start. Jesper has 0 playoff experience. I do think Gus is on a double-secret short rope and if he were to give up around 5-ish Jesper will get the call……….Honestly, the Wild can skate with Dallas so they need to put the after whistle rough stuff on the shelf and save it for Colorado, if applicable.
