Vasily (Podkolzin) and I have been friends since childhood. We would always go to the local rink together ( Figure Skating for me, hockey for him). I knew he had an elite skill since he was 8 years old, and he always gave it his 100% effort. I'm so proud of him for the success he is having in the NHL, but I always knew he would end up playing an important role for an NHL team. You could just see it in him from a young age.
