7 Minute Wings: THE FUTURE IS HERE | Plante Makes HISTORY, Augustine Arrives, MBN Breaks Out

The future of the Detroit Red Wings is starting to take shape—and it’s incredibly exciting.
In today’s 7 Minute Wings, we take a look at three rising stars in the organization who are making major headlines and giving fans a glimpse of what’s coming next.
🔥 Max Plante makes history as the first Red Wings prospect ever to win the Hobey Baker Award, and becomes the first sophomore to win it since Cole Caufield in 2021. He’ll return to school for his junior season—with a chance to play alongside his brothers in a truly special opportunity.
🧤 Trey Augustine caps off an incredible NCAA career by winning the Mike Richter Award, finishing with a 2.11 GAA and .929 save percentage. Now, he’s taken the next step—making his AHL debut with the Grand Rapids Griffins, adding even more depth to Detroit’s future in net.
🚨 Michael Brandsegg-Nygard continues to impress in Grand Rapids, now sitting at 20 goals and 24 assists, second on the team in scoring. His development has been outstanding and he’s quickly becoming a key piece of the future core.
This is what the next era of Detroit hockey could look like.
The future is here.

  1. Yzerplan is still the plan, the media saying it failed is annoying. The Wings are 12th in the league. Yesterday when i checked there were only 3 west conference teams in the top 13 of the league, dunno how that happens. Not an excuse for inconsistency, just more bs from the hockey gods. Thanks for the video. Go Wings!

  2. Is there a better mix for a content creator than hope and doom? The sky is blue in GR and the sky is falling in 313 😅
