The Sens absolutely have "business" of being in the playoffs. Aside from their crease, they are a top 5 team in almost every analytic stat and they also pass the "eye test" – they have the edge in play in almost every game. They're now getting reliable goaltending and look at their record.
They're going to make noise in the playoffs if they get in – and they most likely will.
