This is a very Nico Hischier answer for anyone who’s been following his whole career people are overreacting over nothing. His gm just got fired what else is he supposed to say when he literally doesn’t know.
When Jack went down due to a steak knife it wasn't Fitzgerald that couldn't score goals. I just think Nico had a close relationship with Fitz. Not going to read too much into his comments
"I'm with the Devils right now and we'll see what happens." Not the answer NJD fans wanted to hear. From the players perspective they blame themselves on a performance level. They liked Fitz, but from a fan's perspective – we have a great core but maybe not the right combination of players. We waited for many losing years to get the draft picks that Ray Shero got to build our core around. Missing the playoffs year after year has to have some accountality and a new approach to fix it.
I will absolutely cry if Nico Hischier leaves. PLEASE STAY 🙏
