  1. Malkin is one of the most underappreciated stars in the game. Never mentioned in the same breathe as any of the other greats but he is absolutely one of them. 1400 points, a Conn Smythe, 2 Art Ross trophies, a Hart Trophy, a Calder, 3 Stanley Cups. He's literally done it all.

  2. legit defense I think wanted him to score reason is sportsmanship and bragging rights as I was in play when he got his …….. whatever his total score is. as an athlete myself, its actually more fun to say that you were on the ice or field of play when a historical fun moment happened in sports such as a record breaking of some kind… preferably the positive ones.. we believe it brings good karma. I'm a panthers fan, but dammit good for malkin.. hard worker deserves every point. yeah panthers were playing at 60% ( they were not going full speed and their energy reads that they just want to make it look like they are not throwing the game too obviously..). I'm cool with it… fun to watch and it's just a game at the end of the day. does not actually matter who wins or loses. its not a battle for life or death… glad malkin got to this milestone in a wonderful way. hat tricks are always fun to watch no matter who does em.

  3. Unreal defense by all. Amazing what can happen when you swarm and disrupt as a unit. Panthers not at their best but that was very fun folks. If the defend and shoot without reverting to that state where no one wants the puck and overpasses to no one.

  4. Geno Malkin with a perfect Sid-esque deflection. 1,400 points and a hat trick. Geno goes BEAST MODE.
Sid also passed Yzerman for the 2nd most points with 1 franchise. As of April 2026, Sidney Crosby holds the second-most points with a single franchise in NHL history, with 1,756 points for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He surpassed Steve Yzerman and trails only Gordie Howe (Detroit Red Wings) for the all-time record, having spent his entire 20+ season career with Pittsburgh.
