Becoming Wild: Feeding the Wild

Like your car on the road, an NHL team relies on the right fuel to run its best on the ice.

In this episode of Becoming Wild, presented by Toyota, meet the nutrition team that helps Wild players find out what fuel works best for them. Whether its breakfast at the TRIA Rink on a game day or a postgame smoothie on the road, nutrition support for the Wild is in every room and keeping up with a constantly changing science. Find out what a “performance plate” is, what a “sweat test” reveals, and how Wild prospects are put to the test at Development Camp to get their minds thinking about nutrition.

  1. Honestly, this is the kind of stuff they need to teach all the kids in school at high school level at the latest in life. Our country and world would be a better place. It took me only a few weeks to ween my young meathead helper from daily fast food to cooking healthy stuff for himself daily. Very rare I have fast food at all, in fact nothing that is not basically meats and veggies and some fruit goes into my body, but I did not start that until my 30s when it was just me I had to look after in life. I wish I had some hot chicks like these teaching me at that age, I certainly would have paid attention and learned earlier in life.

  2. Not gonna lie, that was the best episode yet. They should have a page on the team website that shows their healthy meal plans for the fans. Promote healthier eating habits and healthier lifestyle

  3. This was an awesome Becoming Wild and it really shows how much work goes on behind the scenes to make a pro hockey team.
