Drury is really one of the worst GM's in all sports. Same level as Brian Cashman. There isn't 1 trade he's won. Panarin, though 34 is still a superstar in this league and has a good 2-3 years left in him. Watch him rejuvenate his career in LA and start scoring 40 goals/60 assists again. Drury is totally clueless and will not rest until he buries the Rangers so deep, it'll take a decade to be relevant again.
I still remember the video you posted taunting the Islanders fans after that brutal loss to Carolina in the playoffs where they gave up a bunch of goals quickly, blew a lead, and completely collapsed. I felt like I never wanted to watch another hockey game after that. Things change fast in the NHL. And for that reason, I won’t gloat. I’m just glad the Isles lucked into Matthew Schaefer and got a new GM.
Ranger 'fans' celebrated the Trouba and Kreider trades bc theyre idiots. Drury could have waited to make this deal now, if that was the return. Greentree will be a career AHLer
Why do you think this was a bad trade? It's a player on an expiring contract and he had all of the power. He would only be traded to a team willing to offer an extension. That narrows down the list to only teams with the required cap space for an extension. Remember Taylor Hall, a former league MVP, only netted Buffalo Anders Bjork & a pick from Boston. Bjork isn't even in the NHL anymore. lol At least the Rangers got a top tier prospect! Also, its a 2 year 22 million dollar deal at 11 per…not a 2 year 11 million dollar deal. Perhaps you misspoke?
Panarin is the all-time leading left winger in Rangers history with 607 points (205 goals, 402 assists).
Panarin also:
– Leading scoring average in Rangers history with 1.26 points per game
– Second-leading points in a single season with the Rangers with 120 (49 goals, 71 assists) in the 2023-24 season.
Only with time will Rangers fans realize he's a club legend.
Panarin — one of the most underrated players in the NHL. But it's also his fault too — if he'd played in Tampa Bay, for example, with Kucherov (they had a great partnership in the Russian national team) and won the Stanley Cup, everything would have been different. But he chose comfort and money, and he couldn't care less about the Stanley Cup, unfortunately.
As a Kings fan, it is hard to hate the deal, especially the value, but the fanbase is not very optimistic about the future of the team. Ultimately, any and all futures traded right now are considered wasted until a proper rebuild is done because the team just isn't good enough to contend for a cup. That said, there's nothing in the universe that is going to convince current LA brass, particularly Luc Robitaille, to consider a rebuild. So, unfortunately, we're all forced to be along for the ride, and Panarin offers that, at the very least, the horrific desolation known as Kings playoff hockey will be a little more interesting and entertaining. He is exactly what they needed, but could have used a couple of years ago.
Greentree is not a great prospect. He had a good draft+1 playing with Ilya Protas, but isn't having a particularly standout season as a 20 year old over-ager in the OHL.
LOL his wife is probably a west side spoiled brat and said only Los Angeles because I want to be a star. There. Occam's razor. Look at the obvious explanation. Nothing burger story.
They are kind of lucky they got what they got on an expiring contract. Obviously the salary of $11 mil per for a 34 yo player was the issue. Drury got market value, not many teams have that kind of cap space, he’s a terrific player buy tough to deal. You can’t rebuild the Rangers with 34 yo players. I do feel for the fans in NYC as the next few years will be a struggle. We feel your pain here in Vancouver but fans here are embracing the rebuild. Hopefully you will get to that point soon. You should do ok in the draft and with a trade or two who knows? GLTA
I'm wondering if it is the huge Russian community in LA? second only to NY. But LA is where scorers go to die. I'm wondering if Panny likes to backcheck? He'll be doing a lot of it.
Bottom line is Dopey Drury plays poker and blurts out his hand. The islanders got way more for Brock Nelson who is a pimple on the ass of Bread Kudos to Drury on having the pics of Jimmy D and the goat. Job forever
I think Chris Drury might have gotten an equipment bag and an old skate sharpener in the deal. Right now Chris Drury is the Rangers Isaiah Thomas. He's going to utterly destroy the team, and Dolan will still keep him around, and Drury will cling to Dolan for dear life. Because he knows that if he gets fired, then he is DONE. No NHL team will hire Chris Drury after this. Not even as a stick boy.
As a Los Angeles Kings fan, I'm not thrilled about the trade. Obviously, Panarin is an elite left wing. At the same time, I don't feel that he solves the team's greater issues. Specifically, I feel the kings need to find a new head coach and make a clean sweep of the front office. Former general manager Rob Blake turned a two-time Stanley Cup winning team into a bailing wire and Scotch tape mess. In my opinion, once a new head coach has been hired and new leadership formed, it's time for a complete rebuild. After all, Kopitar is retiring and Drew dowdy is near the end.
I just don’t like the front office trading players just because they’re old let’s go back to 2018 when they literally traded half the roster they were still a Stanley Cup container run it back some guys might leave and Jeff Gordon gave half our players to the Tampa Bay Lightning I’m attack in the creditability of the lightning or the avalanche of the Panthers, but the Rangers through 2020 2022 and 2024 have the potential to go to the Stanley Cup finals and they just do thinks that backfire

Less than 2 years out from the presidents trophy to this. Unfuckingbelievable
Lol

А куда ушел Панарин? Он же играл с Патриком Кейном в Чикаго, а потом с Игорем Шестеркиным в Нью Йорке. Где он сейчас? В какой команде Артемий?
Trade is bad but everyone forgets how when the playoffs start, our 11 million dollar player plays like a scared chicken every time he gets the puck.

Kings won't even make the playoffs
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Canucks are paying petey 11.6 the rangers could’ve payed the guy his 11×2 and still rebuild

Sabres fan here. Stop your whining. When you go through it for 15 years then you can whine.
This is the best thing since sliced panera bread
They're gonna trade Mika to the Preds for a sandwich and fries.
Stupid for the rangers not for the Kings
I would walk the guy to UFA rather than get scalped because he is forcing a specific situation.
S tier video title
Whatever city Panarin's wife chose, that's where he went.
Your hockey takes are typically really terrible, so I'm glad this happened

Greentree is an animal. Dude is big as all hell. Can score and plays hard. Something Panarin doesn't do.
