World champion Ilia Malinin fought through an imperfect free skate, still laying out enough difficult content to earn 1st place in the men’s free skate segment of the team event. His win secured Team USA the win.

Ilia is the best, that is a fact! He is the reason twam USA won the team event. Yes, they all skated, but they needed him to bring it home, and thats exactly what he did. Ilia had so much pressure on him. He will be back, and he will get an individual gold medal, believe that!

I wonder if he has ever gotten to meet NF in person. I hope so — clearly Nate's music means a lot to him, and as a superfan of NF myself I know he must really want to meet. His performance to "Running" was so powerful it broke me down to sobbing.

Thinking of the sheer physics of that backflip— he’s moving about 14+ mph , lands a backflip on one leg and on skates. As if a normal backflip isn’t hard enough .
Watching skaters with such athleticism such as him and Bonaly lead me to tears. Bonaly may be criticized for a lack of being artistic, but as an artist, I think the work put in for this sport in itself is an art. Beautiful performant from both of these guys.
He’s skating at another level. If you say there’s no one else in the world that can do what he does, just give him gold.
