Please Pelley, understand that the leafs aging d core finally caught up to them this year causing our goalies to play tougher minutes and the offense has been a issues for years even with Marner.
On top of that Detroit Montreal buffalo Ottawa spent a decade rebuilding and are now turning the ship around. There's a reason why Boston Toronto and Florida are all out of the playoffs this year. Only Tampa has stayed relevant. There is no retool and no 1st next year.
Please understand the issues
The Leafs should co-hire Neil Smith and Ted Nolan as GM and Head Coach respectively. Then introduce them in a press conference wearing tacky leather jackets with Islanders . . . err, I mean Leaf logo's on the front!
So long as Pelley enlists a hiring firm which is focused on total alignment and coherence there should be a Cup on the horizon.

If it’s his responsibility, why does he still have a job? Why wasn’t Brad fired long before the trade deadline? Why the decision now? I don’t think this administration is capable of making a good decision.
