Erik Černák got a minor for boarding on Ryan O’Reilly. He didn’t like it and he picked up an extra ten minute misconduct for saying so. Jon Cooper’s reaction to that news was priceless. lol.
It always amazes me when people with so much success at such a high level are also clueless about pretty basic stuff. As a referee, one of the prime times to use the misconduct penalty is when a player is loudly or demonstrably disrespectful. It's not even about feelings at that point, it's someone undermining the authority of the official and the official making sure to nip that in the bud. There is this weird entitlement to be unsporting, that was a perfect penalty call and a perfect misconduct call, if you know hockey, you should know this. Huge L for Cooper here.
