The team played great today with the exception of the last few minutes!!!
Too bad for Mich St with a late comeback shocker to miss the Frozen Four, but with 10 games left (and hopefully a round of playoffs), I would really love to see Martone… If not anything, it would be great experience for him and I am sure at minimum the Power Play will be immediately better!!! And I hope this is the beginning of the more consistent Tippett bc he has truly impressed CONSISTENTLY for the past month!!!
Tippett playing like a guy who's playing for his contract year, but in his case it's because he doesn't want to be traded. I'm afraid he'll fall back into his old habits next year when its no trade clause kicks in. So I'm torn between trading it while its value is at its highest or keeping it with us….But in the meantime, I'm enjoying the show because I love this player and i love the duo ZegrasTippett…
Sorry to be Mr. miserable debbie downer flyers fan, but I strongly disagree with the notion that we can just laugh off the near-collapse at the end because they ultimately won. This team almost never wins by more than one goal (not including empty-netters), almost never looks like the better team for most of the game, and even when they do they and build a nice lead, they still cough it up and make it way more dramatic than it needs to be. It's a clear indication of a dearth of real talent imo. "The flyers are just chaotic lol!" doesn't cut it.
I don't know why you're spending so much time talking about Barkey. You're going to be disappointed Charlie. It's very likely he won't even make the team next year. He's currently on the team because we have some Jersey to fill. A player of his size is useless if he's not on top lines, and with all the high quality wingers we have, he'll never be on the top 6. End of story.

Last game the player that you said POWERED us to Victory – didn’t even have a SOG! The "Fire Tocchet" shtick is officially bulls**t.
Developmentally Drysdale, Tippett, Cates, Zegras, Barkey, Bump, and arguably even guys like TK have taken big strides this season. Other than Michkov it's hard to find many cases of regression.

I have issues with some of his coaching style (timeouts are one of them btw) but if you think they should be firing this guy in year 1 of a 5-year contract in spite of all that progress in a season where the expectations are not to make the playoffs in the first place AND he has a very young and severely underskilled roster? You are a mentally-ill lunatic with TDS (Tocchet Derangement Syndrome)
I would only be open to trading Owen Tippett at this point if we get an Owen Tippett that plays 1st line center in return.
Cates isn't unmoveable to me like OT is, but his value's gone up as well.
