Parros is an idiot. Eventually someone will get really hurt. such a cheap shot
This is why the NHL is no longer relevant to sports fans. It’s just impossible to watch this anymore.
This is THE PANTHERS. This is literally how they are taught to play. Taught with the intent to injure. Like 75% of that roster does this and pulls that kinda crap. Nothing new at ALL from them. The entire DoPS needs to be investigated.. Hell investigate the entire NHL for that matter. Top down. Bring the FBI in and investigate them ALL. Subpoena them ALL.
It's going to take a retaliation stick across the chops to break a jaw or Crack a cheekbones, take the 10 game suspension. Problem solved.
The DoPS and Refs are so inconsistent . There is no continuity between any of their calls and reviews .
Start fining owners and GMs and they'll stop putting together dirty teams and the coaches who encourage them.
Suspend players doing the damage for a month also take away a month worth of salary
Player safety staff are getting lazy, taking the easy way out. Greer deserved an in-person hearing.
DoPS will shake his hand.
Has to be 10 games. At least.
Department of Panthers' Safety
Tell Ron Maclean to retire…..Tired of seeing the traitor.. I paused at the 19 sec mark…will not watch anything he is involved in…..!!
You had potential for many new fans in the USA after the Olympics and the nhl needs to clean this stuff up or they’ll squander this opportunity
Phone call hearing seems appropriate. 2-5 games. What's more worrisome to me is the comment about making it illegal for big guys to hit small guys. Because that is essentially what was said
The intent to injure is clear. That should 25 games at least.
Once Paros was hired, in no way shape or form could the department of player safety be taken seriously.
Go look at Sandi’s villains head shot on Charlie mcavoy that got no suspension or game misconduct the nhl has failed
3 games is a joke of a punishment and dangerous precedent to set for the league. Intentionally hitting a player from behind and potentially paralyzing the player should be way more of a suspension. We teach kids at a young age not to hit from behind so giving him three games is a joke and the dops needs to all be fired and bring in all new competent people to objectively do the job.
NHL is showing they don’t care about player safety.
Three? Only three fn games for a play that could have CRIPPLED Zary!? Bush League!
Yikes that is a dangerous play. 3 games is not much of a deterrence. A hit from behind like this should be 5 games minimum. If repeat offender 10 games minimum.
“You can already see where this is going” – translates to “nothing will be done” cause as per George’s words, there’s nothing to change and they’re happy with what they have, and Bettman supports this and has for years
Barros is a moron
A dirty hit is a dirty hit, no matter who does it. Tired of seing players going down because of goon hockey!!
Parros is a clown
Not a fan of any team involved in any of this. That hit from behind was much worse than the Gudas knee on knee. That hit had a potential to kill the player. This league flirts with disaster. Its not going to be good when someone dies on the ice on national television.
It is simple optics. It LOOKS bad when 1 guy (former player) is seen to make all of the decisions. Make it a revolving 5 person panel with random 3 guys chosen for each offense. They each submit a length of penalty and you take the average. No 1 person conflict of interest (actual or implied).
Phone hearings need to be abolished, or the maximum suspensions allowed resulting from phone meetings need to be increased.
I guess nobody read the be polite notice popup before posting. LOL
He’s a fourth line shitter for a team not making the playoffs, he took a dogshit stupid interference penalty and then decided to top it off by purposefully significantly risking another player’s health. How is he not out for the rest of the season at least?? Such a joke.
The Department of Player Danger suspended him for 3 games. Maintaining risk of serious injury for the entire league despite the rules.
as for the Goaltender Interference. Rule 69.7 which states, in part, the goal on the ice should have been allowed because 'in a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.
They shot the puck at the net it rebounded and was loose in front of the net and the attacking player was making a play for it.
Greer has been suspended before. He shoved an off balance Zary from behind head first into the boards, injuring him and luckily nothing worse. What precedent is Parros talking about? This is the easiest 10-15 game suspension. Gudas, a guy with a laundry list of suspensions, with an intentional knee on knee, how is this not a 20 game suspension minimum? Parros is setting his own precedent with being so lenient on reoffending players. It is ridiculous.
Make the financial impact compounding.
