Stützle ruled not goaltender interference: A follow up
Tim Stützle was ruled to have not affected goaltender Ville Husso’s ability to make the save. Here’s my interpretation of this rule and why I also think that’s not even true.
Your quote of 69.3 is potentially not valid here as contact is initiated outside the crease (skate on pad). Your highlighting of the player avoiding it also doesn’t apply because Tim had established position outside the crease. Again this only looks bad because you’re watching at super slow mo.
