Well, they played okay, they just didn't tie up sticks in front of the net, rule number 1 for D I thought, but I only ever played winger.
How many tipped goals did Tampa score? Lankinen is not the problem! This team under Adam Foote and Rick Tocchet have been absolutely horrible defending without the puck in their zone! This really is on Rutherford and Alvin who have made poor coaching hires and quite honestly, can't evaluate coaching talent based on results! Stanley cup winning teams finish in the top 10 stats for goals for and against. Under Tocchet and Foote the past two seasons they are near the bottom of the league in both categories! You can start the season with a poor line-up, but a well-coached team can make progress despite an inferior line-up – not regress and finish last! I hope they hire a coach with a good track record. I think Manny could be next however… at least I think he could adapt and make good in-game decisions. Winning a Calder Cup is impressive.
Good to see the Canuck's players showed up for the telethon by playing the right way. Yikes!
