In 2018, Filip Zadina wasn’t just another first-rounder. He was the sniper of the draft. The pure goal-scorer. Lethal release. Deceptive snapshot. One-timer that explodes off the blade. With the Halifax Mooseheads, he didn’t just have a good draft year he detonated the league.
44 goals. 82 points. Just 57 games.But Zadina’s world junior performance made the hype even more real. #FilipZadina #NHL #RedWings #NHLDraft #Hockey #HockeyYouTube #NHLProspects #NHLHighlights #HockeyAnalysis #DetroitRedWings #HockeyDocumentary

  1. Hope you guys enjoyed this shorter video about a player I was always really rooting for Filip Zadina! Who I thought would be making a big impact in the NHL today! That said, what do you think went wrong for Zadina?

  2. Holland 2018 draft (6th): Filip Zadina had 44 goals 82 points in 57 games (QMJHL)
    VS
Yzerman 2025 draft (13th): Carter Bear had 40 goals 82 points in 56 games (WHL)

  3. If Ottawa drafted him, he would be scoring a steady 60pts today. Not as good as Brady, but Detroit fumbled the fuck out of him

  4. Pic of Detroit reporter Brad Galli talking to Quinn is salt in the wound. Obviously it wasn't intentional but those last Holland drafts set the Wings back for years. He was vindicated with his quote that a rebuild would take a decade, not that he helped.

  5. He was a flashy winger that lacked everything else except scoring. Once scoring dried up he washed up

  6. To me it sounds like a naturally talented player who wasn't willing to put in the work when the skill gap levelled out in the NHL. Classic

  7. Whats kind of funny is the Canucks scouting staff chirped the Red Wings table on the draft floor for picking Zadina over Hughes.

  8. Really wanted Zadina to succeed with the Wings. Watched virtually every game he played here. He just doesn’t process the game fast enough to be a successful NHL player. He was always a second late. A second late to take the shot. Made the pass a second late. A second late to the rebound or loose puck. A second late picking up the open guy in his own end. So his shots either got blocked, hit the goalie in the chest or went 10 feet wide. His passes would get intercepted. He wouldn’t jump on the rebound to score a greasy goal. It’s too bad because you could see his potential. That pick turning into such a bust really set back the Wings rebuild, too.

  9. Holland's gifts just keep on giving. Set back the team 5 years.

All of his jr. goals were him standing still at the circle with like 6 business days before he released. He was never going to translate to the NHL.

  10. Thank god we got Lucas Raymond two years later, imagine if Zadina fulfilled his potential. A Raymond, Larkin, Zadina line would be deadly

  11. I remember our local radio in Detroit kept saying "Lose for Hughes", he actually falls to us and we pick up this bum Zadina 😂

  12. As a Wings fan, he was definitely a bust! He was so unimpressive as a Wing the only thing he is remembered for is the fact Holland passed on Quinn Hughes to take him. If there wasn’t a Quinn Hughes in the draft, nobody would remember Zadina was here.

  13. I just remember telling my friends Zadina should be traded on his third year with the team while he had some kind of value and everyone thought I was nuts.

  14. So happy my sens went with Brady. And the bonus is I get to read all the whiners complain about how dirty he apparently is. 😂

  15. He was cocky and it put an insane amount of pressure on himself to perform. The “fill their net with pucks” comment was the dumbest thing he could’ve said.
    Humbleness is always the play.
