  1. Tim
Do a video trying the most popular index releases. I’m considering one for this season.

  2. What I love about the UV and Stan is their hinge and thumb button are set up exactly the same. It’s easy to shoot a hinge for practice then hunt with a thumb button without changing your sight/tune.

  3. The good part about the stan is that they purposely made the release to all match in the onnex line. The thumb, hinge, and the resistance all have the string in the same location. You can go through all releases and have no change in the draw.

  4. Stan. I'd maybe say UV but that long neck is a deal breaker, plus the Stan comes with lots of parts for adjustability

  5. Its been out a while but would like to try the Scott Ascent/Select (click and fire adjustable, select has flex), one of the first independently adjustable to become available

My issue with a thumb tends to be me getting twitchy, which goes away with some hinge (then comes back at some point later !)

My ancient brass hbc and Carter Chocolate Addiction have roughly the same sight marks while the hinge 2 requires extra sight movement (may also have rounded the really small adjustment/lock screws on hinge 2)

  6. I love you guys! Especially after that impromptu debate on Bobby Lee vs Theo Von comedy you had on Fireside Chats the other day! You guys are part of my daily digest and I finally had to sing it out loud. Tim, you can still outshoot me and I don’t think I have to preface this when I say, I really do enjoy the newer archer point of view. Having only gotten serious into shooting since 2020, I love having all three of you to learn with and from. I used to just sit around all day long waiting for Dudley to figure out a way to explain archery to me and nowadays I’m real grateful for what you guys do!!! I would love to travel out that way and visit the shop, do a Tac, meet my heroes and make sure my draw length is rock solid but for now, thanks for your hours of hard work, awesome what-would- I-do-without-you-guys-content and solid cross-country shipping 🤙🏼🤙🏽🤙🏾🤙🏿

  7. Scott sigma vs apex core. Trying to get into a thumb release from a Scott t handle index release

  8. A handheld release is so personal. It has to fit. It has to be at the correct angle to use your back to activate it. The Stan has that spike coming off the back of the finger post. I shot that release and thought the first thing I would do is grind that thing off. I also thought I would have to figure out how to remove the extra gate that makes it nearly impossible to get on the d loop. The UV has NO adjustment for the fingers, and the click speed is two independent moons. That means that if you want to adjust the speed of the release, you also have to adjust click speed again. Neither of those two fit my hand well so they were never in strong contention but they both are smooth, crisp releases and if they fit you they will serve you well. I liked the shot and the weight of the heavy metal onnex but I don't like having my fingers spread apart like that. I like a thumb button better and I have shot a truball Abyss for years, and just last week got an Ultimate. The jury is still out on which one I'll like better but I'm testing the Ultimate right now.

  9. So the thumb bar is only for pulling back? You take your thumb off to execute the shoot! 😮

  10. I have a question, about everything???? 😊 the way you are anchored looks like the back of your release hand is lightly touching the side of your face? Correct? If so, is your D loop twisted sideways and does that even matter? I guess it might not because it’s just the loop and not the string???? Please comment back. I would like to know the answer.

  11. I love Stan Onyx thumb button is absolutely amazing I love the true ball XL HBC Flex the tungsten is the one I have the one that's really heavy I love it and then I love my ultra view hinge also but I did not love the Ultra review thumb button that you cannot set that thumb button to near enough tension

  12. This is a year old for me to watch it but have you guys ever thought about when you draw your release back and you come to Anchor if you just start to relax your hand the shot will go off

  13. You also did not talk about the fact that Ultra view did sweep that neck toward most of the tension when you're drawing the boat is right over top of the middle finger therefore making it easier to Pivot that with the ring finger

  14. Brother youre wild mr tim. Thats a grip wrapped up in thise releases, almost anyways. Thanks for sharing. Running through and watching oldies today.

  15. I’m a steadfast fan of Scott Ascent Hinge releases.. it’s all the benefits of a hinge, but it has a dual sear mode where you can use the click for target shooting, but has adjustable click distance, as well as no click mode for quiet shots used for hunting so that you can use hinge shooting without the loud click… it’s just so adjustable for fitting your needs as a target shooter and hunting shooter

  16. I'd like to see scott brought into the mix. You picked like 3 of the most expensive to do but in reality everyone knows scott has been at the top of the totem pole for hinges and releases in general for years so I think they should be used more. Maybe I'm just biased to them but I've shot so many different releases and I always always always come back to a scott hinge or thumb

  17. Hey, I know this is an Older Video but, I currently shoot the Hinge 2 for TAC & just regular target practice but I was thinking about possibly buying the TRU BALL HBC Flex & I was curious how easy is it to adjust??? are the click & fire adjustable separately or is it just one adjustment for both click & fire???

  18. I know this is an old video but if anyone new is watching, here is my review on the UV and releases in general.
I'm very new to archery but Im fortunate enough to be able to buy most of whatever I want. I switch accessories on my bow a lot and I just got in my UV release.
Honest opinion? it does feel fantastic but I think its criminal to charge 200$ plus for any release. I understand there is engineering that goes into it but man…. 350$ for a release is insane. I feel like I can shoot just as well with my spot hogg wiseguy trigger release and its half the price. I also think my Carter toosimple 24 is just as good too. The neck is shorter on my carter but it feels just as smooth to me and that only comes in at $250 which is still over 200$ but def a better bang for your buck than $350

  19. I shoot a Blackout 3 Finger release just changing from the 4 finger. It has helped me with some of my target panic. What are your thoughts on Blackout releases?
