No Freddie is not the problem at all. The teams in front these last few years have been badly outplayed. I don’t think leafs even make the playoffs without andersen
Get Andersen a decent backup so he can rest more. He reaches the playoffs way to tired and wit all the pressure to play on top of his head every game
People are upset with Dubas for asking to high a price for his players? They should really be upset with Jim Rutherford for saying yes to the trade.

Maybe a GM that is currently in the playoffs could of gave TO an actual player worthwhile and valuable in return?? who knows, but why rush it??? To think TO moved forward in their quest to win a Stanley Cup by subtracting a good, controllable, young asset without any player in return is what makes Toronto fans, Toronto fans. The point of hockey is not to be in a constant state of rebuild, but actually its to win a Cup! Honestly I don't see many actually blaming Freddie outside of a couple of uninformed fans. He's generally done well as a Leaf and is likely due for a good raise after next season.
At this time he will be going on 32 and the contract may be too long and too expensive to sufficiently round out their defence. It's a similar reason why the Leafs got him in the first place. Anaheim had both Andersen and Gibson and needed to shed salary. It was purely a business move rather than a hockey move.
In all likelihood, the Leafs won't be able to resign Andersen, or won't be comfortable with the term. Trading him now and getting a start on getting a replacement is better than losing him for nothing.

It’s seriously baffles me how Toronto fans think Freddy is even 5% of the problem. Use your eyes. Look at bob in florida.. two time vezina winner with a great defense in colombus but statistically the worst goalie in the league this year.. why? The defense in Florida. It’s pretty damn simple. The defense needs to be number one and that will stop the losing. But dubas has dug his home so deep he has no choice but to keep going down his path. Trade marner for a top 2 defensemen and sign krug. Figure it out but that’s the only way this team makes is past the first round. Wasting Auston Matthews regular seasons..
In the three losses to Columbus they scored 0, 3 and 0, but goaltending is the problem? I've been watching hockey for 60 years and in all that time I've never seen a team win a game without scoring a goal.

Dave Nonis didn't hire Sheldon Keefe as Coach of the Marlies. Kyle Dubas did. Dubas was GM of the Marlies and sought out Keefe to be coach.
Put Reilly on the wing and get some real defenseman help Freddie out.
The thing that is really holding the Leafs back is their management. Having 3 players at 11mil and another at 7 makes it very difficult to build around them and in today’s NHL a team needs to have a good goalie, good defence and at least three preferably four lines scoring. However with those contracts it becomes very difficult to bring in the quality they need. If this were the 90’s the Leafs would be a cup contender but not in 2020. Bottom line THE LEAFS MANAGEMENT HAS FAILED this team and their fans and that’s all there is to it.
Freddy is not the problem, the defence is. Leafs wouldn't even make the playoffs without Freddy. We ALL know this.
I think that Freddy Anderson is an amazing goalie. He has never had a year with the leafs for me where I could just blame him as a bad player, weather it was fatigue, injuries, bad defense or just an off game it was always a problem that was not fully in his control. Even at his worst hes an average goalie but at his best he is elite. I believe he will be able to bounce back this year with a great backup like Jack Campbell he can get the rest he needs and play the way he is supposed too.
Why do fans in every bad D team blame the goalie? Taking cheap shots at the goalie is just showing that you have NO understanding of the game. Start to talk about quality chances and saves. Even God himself couldnt have saved Leafs at times.
