Should Flyers GM Danny Briere target St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas to accelerate the rebuild? Are the Philadelphia Flyers ready to make a blockbuster move at the NHL Trade Deadline?

Bill and Charlie of the PHLY Flyers Podcast break down the potential trade scenario between the Flyers and the Blues, analyzing how Robert Thomas would fit into Philadelphia’s long-term plans. 1. I’m more familiar with his music career, but if he’s a good hockey player, go for it Danny

  2. Excluding Martone we do not have a talent package to land Thomas……..nor does Briere have the courage to give up assets to make the Hockey Trade that this team really needs…..danny lacks balls.

  3. I mean … no? Thomas isn't enough to go "all in" to get. If you need to win a race, you don't just agree to buy the Hyundai because its there.

  4. Thomas would be a great fit and we are way too organizationally stacked at RW. I like Tippett but his defensive liabilities limit who you can pair him with and he’s not consistent enough for me to be confident in him as a top line wing.

We need to get rid of at least one right wing. I see Brink as an affordable and dependable 3rd liner.

Andrae, Tippett, and a first seems pretty fair and realistic to me but not sure if I’m wearing orange-tinted glasses

  5. I don’t know why the Blues would want Tippett. He’s not much younger than Thomas. How about Brink, our 2027 1st, and our 2026 2nd?

  6. It's funny, if they are serious about getting better this is the kind of move they need to make but they probably don't have the ammo and he probably doesn't want to come here. It's a shame. Stuck in mediocrity sucks.

  7. no, would not pay the steep price that St Louis is demanding….price is too high. Thomas is absolutely not a superstar 1C. No first round picks for him. They probably don't want Risto, but I'd consider any of our center prospects (Luchanko or Nesbitt), York, and maybe Brink. And if that is close to getting it done throw in a second or third round pick in 2027.

  8. This rebuild is a failure. They put all their eggs in 2026 Free Agency. Once Jones admitted they were caught off guard regarding the rising cap, it was the white flag. That first season will come back to haunt them under Briere as GM. That playoff push that ended in no playoffs and a pick in the teens is a true recipe to stay mediocre

  9. I'm more interested in why is st Louis moving Robert Thomas. Do they believe he's not good enough for that salary.

  10. Should != Can. If Im STL nothing the flyers have interests me. STL is heading into a rebuild. That means they want picks and prospects. Leafs 2027 pick might be intriguing but we have no top level prospects.

  11. Outside opinion: the Flyers should be trying to trade TK, Couturier, Sanheim, Dvorak, and arguably Zegras, Brink, and Drysdale. They are nowhere close to competitive and will never be competitive without moving out those pieces for futures.
