Another couple teams for Robert Thomas could be the Wild and Red Wings… right now I tend to believe the Wild are looking at Trocheck more.. and not sure if Stevie Y is willing to give up big pieces for Thomas.. I'd imagine the Blues would want Kasper + Bear + Danielson + 1st (something like that)
montreal is not going to trade hage,they are more on dropping dach, or roy and a second,so montreal is most likly out of this..
Buffalo has all their draft picks, we have 7 prospects that were first ed picks, high end players to offer, I would personally try to offer 2-1st rd picks to blues, Power, Quinn, Rosen(25 goals in 35 AHL games) for Thomas(not all but combo). We have so many skilled young forwards we can t fit them all on the team. The time to go for a cup is now in this strange season with East wide open…and before you Leafs fans say goofy stuff just remember Buffalo just destroyed Florida and Tampa in back to back road games.

When seeing what the rosters would look like after these trade ideas, you have Robert Thomas slotted in at 2C. Do you see him as a 2C or is he really a 1C? I'm not criticizing your assessment – you're pretty honest and objective about players. I'm just trying to get sense of what caliber of player Thomas is, especially as I've seen trade proposals elsewhere that have him as a true 1C. If St. Louis is looking for the equivalent of four 1sts, it seems like they value him as a 1C, though I guess paying trade deadline prices factors into that.

If MTL gets Robert Thomas I honestly think they would be a contender for at least 5 years. They're prospect pool is insanely good and then they have a 2C for at least the next 5 years. They would be so damn scary.

Price you're assuming teams would pay is just way too high. I say that as a Blues fan. Thomas is a 1C, yes, but he's elite, not franchise. You'd be lucky to get Desnoyers + Simashev + a 1st from Utah.

Sheeshhhhh that's more than what Dallas gave up for Rantanen🤷♂ That's equivalent to 4 first round picks so(even more so with Nik's and Nad's pedigree)…. basically saying, theres not a lot of guys in the NHL that package couldn't get ya😂 and as desperate as Carolina is for a 2C I don't think they're doing all that but for the sake of argument if they got dumb drunk and did there's zero way STL turns that down and damn near impossible for another team to beat🤷♂
