Reily falling down and knocking over his own defenceman so Florida could score an easy goal was the final straw for me about Reilly being on the team. He absolutely is terrible. He needs a new start. I think with the TDS Canadian crowd they are going to drive out Austen Matthews or make it very hard for him to play in Toronto. Firesale time and no one is untouchable. Here are my picks to be traded. to get some 1st round draft choices and good propspects. Stolarz, McMann, Robertson, Domi, Myers, McCabe, Reilly. Oh ..and Treliving should be gone. Leafs need 2 fast mobile defenceman that can move the puck and a legit top 6 forward to play with Matthews. He can't do it alone. Woll an HIldeby are your future.

I know no one wants to hear this, and you can continue your false narratives all you like, but as Pagnotta said, they HAVE NOT REPLACED MITCH MARNER — their MVP for the past 9 years. Facilitator on the top line, Playmaking, PP, PK, defence.. They’re missing SO MUCH without him. ADMIT IT already. That’s the main reason why they suck.
The team is not good enough. They were not good enough last year when they needed one more superstar – then we lost Marner and Tanev. The team is only getting older and slower. The team is no good. I don't care how many Joshuas, Roys, and Maccellis you have – all 3 do not equal 1 marner. Time to blow it up and build through the draft again. Maybe by the time we have appropriate prospect development the cap will be high enough where we can use it to our advantage.
Trading Matthews and Nylander now will help shorten the painful losing window that will happen with or without them.
Bottom 6 is deeper- lol there are hundreds of NHL calibre player to play in the bottom 6 – the top 6 is hard to fill. That is why losing Marner hurt so much. We don't have 6 top players. We only had 5 with Marner.
Jarnkrok will get you a 4th round pick if you're lucky. Laughton might get a 2nd, McMann maybe 2 2nds, OEL could get a late 1st. That isn't going to make this team better next year. Need to trade Carlo who might get you another 2nd. Just because Treliving gave up a 1st for Laughton and for Carlo does not mean another GM will do the same. This is all a waste of time. Unless there were 2 top UFAs, and there is not, you need to blow it up and start from scratch. Please don't make this harder than it has to be.
