Minnesota Wild crush Colorado Avalanche in a statement 5-2 win as Filip Gustavsson guts out the ultimate “flu game,” stopping 44 of 45 shots despite battling illness. Is Gustavsson silencing Olympic critics and sparking a playoff surge? Matt Boldy continues his meteoric rise with back-to-back four-point games and now pushes a 50-goal pace, while Joel Eriksson-Ek proves healthier than ever, netting two power-play goals for the Wild.
Seth Toupal spotlights the Wild’s resurgence after the Olympic break, dissecting John Hynes’ motivational tactics, Kirill Kaprizov’s five-game point streak, and Quinn Hughes’ historic assist run. Insightful stats, possible Stephen Stamkos trade rumors, and anticipation for the upcoming Utah Mammoth showdown all fuel the conversation. Can the Wild ride this momentum to challenge for the top spot in the division? Don’t miss this in-depth breakdown of Minnesota’s path to NHL dominance.

Holy fuck was gus bus LOCKED in. Team sweden was the issue
Стэнкоса на 38? согласен . если мало то и + 17 . ещё мало? + 24.
*Only question mark with the disparity between Gus' play in the Olympics to this game would be was it the superstar Swedish D in front of him or the big stage pressure that caused him to struggle?
* You almost have to laugh while simultaneously feeling sorry for Ek… Considering the hell he had to go through throughout the game, especially the shit he took on the shifts he scored – only to have Boldy match him in goals with empty netters 😅.
* I think Bogo deserves some praise after this game. He had a hell of a night and was tossing guys around like rag dolls. He was skating tremendously… Just another bright spot from a very solid first game back,
* Kaprizov was in his mid season 🥱form – hindered by the Hughes effect, he floated through another game and STILL slithered away with 2 pts! Gotta love it! haha
I will add, the lack of ANY chemistry between Hughes and KK97 is becoming increasingly frustrating. That said, and this goes back to before the Olympic break – Kaprizov just didn't seem to be clicking with anyone IMO, including Zucc. We chalked up some of it for lack of ice time with the newly acquired Hughes, and now a minor reset on any ground gained due to the Olympic break, assuming it'll take a few games to really get going… BUT, it is something to keep an eye on while also enjoying the fact that your well over a 100pt pace superstar who is in the top 10 in pts, probably isn't even playing his best hockey😎 And that is a scary fun thing to think about it!
* Something you didn't address and a MAJOR concern/issue. Once again, the Wild got completely embarrassed in the faceoff dot. I'd have to imagine that has Billy G fuming after seeing his gold medal US squad just dominate in the circle, a MAJOR contributor to them winning gold. All those FO losses tonight contributed to Colorado's large shot totals considering they had the puck all night after al FO wins.
* Loved the Olympic break. Loved that the NHLers were back in the tournament, and LOVING that we have the NHL and games every night back again! To the playoff and SC final push! SkolWild eh!
You don't wanna go into the crease some just puked on. Disgusting 🤮.
There's zero chance of beating that team in 7 games
Gus was great.
Score is misleading as the Avs had several grade A chances.
Team speed was great but it took the an extended 5-3 to get a goal.
4th line needs to stop trying to exit up the middle …put on the workboots and quit thinking you are 43.
Keep letting the Avalanche thinking they have a lock. You can speed around and shoot mostly perimeter shots…doesn't assure victories!
I wanted to see what locked on Avs had to say about the game. Just reading the comments in that video show me they are delusional. 😂😂😂😂
