Jarry and Nurse. The dynamic duo of achieving goals against lol. I don't see how you let Jarry be the starter from here on out, Ingram has looked calmer and much better in his stint. I hope the boys somehow flip a switch come playoff time (assuming we even make it) but you can't keep relying on that each year. Also yeah refs were bad but not the reason we lost.

This game is entirely on Jarry, I donāt care how bad nurse was. Jarry you need to not let rebounds go, freeze the damn puck. He never freeze the damn puck hell nahh. These guys will get killed on rebounds shots against, since nobody our Dās can clean up front of net. Skinner did decent job freeze the puck, our D didnāt get exposed that much. Worst goalie I ever seen

They should trade Jerry for a guy named Skinner that plays for Pittsburgh.
For your question, nopeā¦.donāt invest anymore into this season. Flush it and go for a good one next season(hopefully)
I'm at that point too, where the Oilers would actually do themselves a favor for the following 2 seasons (2026-27 & 2027-28) by just calling this season a wash and resting up a bit. McDavid has played so much hockey in the last 3 seasons if you think about it. Add in 2 Stanley Cup Finals playoff runs, 4 Nations, and the Olympics and McDavid must have been close to playing 4 seasons worth of hockey in the span of 3 years. Basically crammed in an entire extra season of play. Just rest this team, retool, and get a REAL goalie in the offseason. Last thing the Oilers should do is make a rash trade deadline move. If anything, see if they can dump some boat anchors, as your title of this video references.

Drakonite here: if I were Connor or Leon i would immediately call Stan and Jeff and tell them to trade Nurse…he has no idea what the hell he's doing, he looks like a soccer defenceman…eyes on the puck and no awarness around him. Bringing back Coffey won't revive him…he's lost beyond any Oiler help. I can't stress enough the fact that even with the best goalie in the league we won't make it to the playoffs if this is the defence that is protecting the net. Wallman also looks pretty lost with Nurse…

Jarry blew chunks for sure. Literally every shot on him was a massive rebound. Didn't hold 1 single puck on any of those saves. Nurse though wowowowowowowowow unreal bad. The guy puck watches. Gives the puck away. Terrible shots on goal never a rebound. Plays the puck terribly into corners. Suicide passes constantly. Doesn't fight enough or is rough enough. Never any big hits. Screens the goalie at least once or twice everytime the other team has the puck in our end. Doesn't clear players infront of the net. Doesn't lift sticks. I am missing a bunch I know but hey.

As I've stated the past two months. I've come to accept that this team is not winning the cup this year, and I would not be shocked if they miss the playoffs either.
You do not go "all in" on a season like this. You do not even entertain the notion.
This management team needs to work overtime through the summer in any attempt they can, to dump our boat anchor players. Namely, Nurse, Frederic, Jarry.
Anyone who is nowhere in the vicinity of their cap hit in terms of play. Get. Rid. Of. Them.
This "triage" style GM'ng is not going to work for McDavid's last playoff run with this team.

IF Nurse is such good friends with McDavid!! He should 'take one for the team' and lift his NMC. His off-ice is actually costing them more than his on-ice. Be super costly to get a trade done… But maybe possible…
They should also waive Jary- ( I believe that is possible), and bring back Pickard while they search for someone else in the short time they have…
I am thrilled that SKINNER is gone… But Jary wasn't the answer.
