McDavid is a great player and captain. Canada deserved a better outcome at the Olympics. Winning Lord Stanley this year will take the sting away. It's up to management to make it possible with some trade deadline magic. If the Olympics proved anything though, it was a reminder that Edmonton is damn lucky to have Connor and Leon on their team, and, unlike Team Canada, the Oilers also have Bouchard and Hyman. I'm proud of these players and wish them success. The cup chases these past couple of seasons have been terrific to watch. It's time to put a candle on it and raise the Cup. Coffey's back with the team in a supportive role, and the boys are going back to work. I'm excited for what is to come.

That question about Championships and Cups excluding McDavid is borderline mean. He's laid it on the line in all his championship runs. He won MVP of the Olympics and MVP of a playoff loss. What more does he want?
