Helle and KC going to the white house tomorrow (supposedly, not confirmed at the time of this comment) makes me sad, and if they do go – will have lost all my respect.
While as a Canadian I am sad. Heartbroken. Shocked. But we almost didn't get to the final game. Twice we were inches from elimination or a bronze medal hope. We got silver. Better than bronze or none. But not gold. From a Jets perspective, the team and mainly Helle needed this. He needed the confidence as did the league and world need it in him for being able to win the big game. With him as a winner, could he potentially bring some higher caliber players or even head coach? The key pieces we need to win a cup? Let's wait and see how it plays out. As for 3 v 3 in gold medal game, get rid of it. It's a joke. I hope the NHL pushes IOC/IHL to make the finals same as Stanley cup rules. It was an amazing 2 weeks.
Can we celebrate Helle? Be the city that stands behind him and not be like the leaf fans who boo out their talent? I would hope we all will.

Why do we continue to hand the keys to Chevy to build a team around Helly? He’s been here 15 years and it’s clear from the GMs involved in building the Olympic Team he’s not valued enough to be involved in that process. He’s not an Agent or a former NHLer which has been the trend and is on an island by himself. We need someone with vision and not speaking mumbo jumbo who didn’t see what happened here coming.
