  1. Good insights. Avalanche fan here. Going to be interesting to see how Mac, Makar, and Toews react getting back to nhl play.

  2. Makar is the best backend forwardhands down. But face it, hes not a defenseman. He made zero effort against the first goal and got pushed off the puck in
O.T. like it was a pond hockey game. Seider or Werenski for the Norris.

  3. Nate looked off from the very first game. Between looking partially disinterested at times – but also trying too hard at other times – he just didn't look like himself out there. Whatever the reason for this, he'll have to shake it off quickly for both his sake and the Avs'.

  4. Nate is the reason Canada was even in this game. Why do Canadians love attacking players? Yall destroyed Toronto players with this nonsense. Good luck "supporting" your players and the future. I'm honestly taken back how horrible Canadians are acting and blaming. I'm done with this nonsense

  5. The USA has been right there for a long time, they just haven't been able to win that big last game. This is the first gold medal in Men's Ice Hockey since 1980 for the US team. That is 46 years. Canada was a better team overall for the tournament, but the US team was better on that day. This was good for hockey, it has people talking about hockey outside of just Canada. We also send "Congrats" to the USA womens ice hockey team, a gold medal for them too! Sweep.

  6. To be fair, when they gave the plushy to Tom Wilson I half expected him to rip the head off and hand it back, but instead he acted with class. If you were watching the other event medal ceremonies you'd have expected the plushies, but for the hockey players and fans who didn't it must have seemed a bit odd.

  7. How quickly people forget the 4 nations! And that was a lot better hockey than the Olympics.

  8. Canadians want to boo the US national anthem…so be it. We will just remind the fine folks up north that the US is best Hockey nation in the world right now and we have both men's and woman's gold. Then we will simply smile, say have a nice day and walk away beaming.

  9. MacKinnon was on the World Championship team eliminated by the Denmark. Did not watch the full game, but saw MacKinnon destroying Denmark goalie pads in highlights. The leadership problem is never just about McDavid.

  10. The best team doesn't always win. The Colorado Avalanche has 18 losses this year, but they have been the best team in the league by far! They have the most goals for, the least goals against a 5 more points than the next best team. But again, 18 LOSSES!!

  11. Cooper also said that we know the rules and nobody has an inherent advantage during 3 on 3, that's the way the olympic game is set up and we all have to play by those rules.

  12. Great video and insights as always Lego keep up the great work and also I follow you on Twitter and Instagram as well man.

  13. The hockey gods intervened in that game because of the Medusa touch given to them by Marx Carnage.

  14. This Dude from the Olympic Committee is former goalkeeper Petr Bříza, who represented the Czech Republic at many world championships and also won Olympic bronze in 1992.

  15. When the USA women’s hockey team won I knew the USA men’s hockey team would win. Same thing happened in the last Olympics. Both Canadian goalies were scored on the ice or 5 hole 🕳️. The men watched the women and followed them. 😊

  16. No tragedy for Nate or the rest of Team Canada…Hellebuyck just played better. Every American or every person around the globe who follows hockey would say that the Canadians is by far the better team. Besides, Russia wasn't even able to play and Team USA wasn't properly challenged to really deserve that medal at the international level.

  17. Been saying in other hockey discussions I understand the love for Cale but he’s NOT better than Hughes. It’s not a big gap

  18. The Biggest missed opportunity was failing to score on the 5 on 3, for a bunch of highly paid NHL players this was a horrible loss..

  19. The Canadians thought all they had to do was show up & pick up their gold medals 🥉 Even when they cheat they can't win.

  20. Dude here's the thing the full quote doesn't help it's still comes off as disrespectful. The better team is the team that wins. Any assertion that you're the better team but you lost is subtly saying they didn't deserve to win.

  21. We left three of the top scorers in the NHL at home in order to build defensively around our better goalie. Canada had more shots but no traffic. Lotsa alphas but no worker bees. But, seriously, hockey is fifth or sixth in sports importance in the US. Most Americans have never seen a hockey game. Way less kids play hockey than soccer, for heaven sake. If we put our nfl running backs and safeties on skates about five? They wouldn’t even have this sport in the Olympics the domination would be so complete. 😂

  22. Canada was better on regular time, but not in 3v3, NHL teams that win the most in 3v3 are usually the ones that keep the puck the longest and play with a lot of patience and they weren't playing that way

  23. I didn't listen to the video and when I saw the McLoser r one I didn't even listen to that video either… All I could say are these athletes are prime and an outstanding physical shape. But nothing can really prepare them for this kind of elevated game, elevated pressure, and elevated speed because you know what? After all, no matter how good they are or what they've done, they are all human, when they can make a split decision on whether they're going to pass or shoot and there's not much time, only a split. Second, I saw how Nathan was devastated by that missed opportunity, And as far as McDavid is concerned, it's not a one-man team. It's a full roster that needs to back him up and we don't see that with Edmonton. Especially with their defense. Canada outplayed the US and that's very evident for the second and third period and it was the goalie who stole the show And Lady luck. Who would have thought that he would have swung his goalie stick at the perfect time at the perfect angle and hit the puck out from entering the net. True, he had cat-like reflexes and we need to give him credit for that for sure

  24. Canadians are just relentless on throwing their own countrymen (hockey players) “under the bus”. They played their butts off and when Canada isn’t playing the US, most of us are wanting them to win. Chill man, it was a classic game and there will be more!

  25. Why not celebrate winning Olympic silver medals? Any clue how hard that is? Your boys coming home to a celebration or a funeral?

  26. They gave it all they had n in the end the lost, sucks but people need to move on, people get way to emotional about things.I used to be that way but now I can watch sport without emotional connections.

  27. Both teams played some top notch hockey. Picking a play or 2 to complain about is fruitless compared to the entire game. It's a team sport loaded with individual plays by players and things can get sloppy if focus is lost , it's a high stakes game for a reason. An instant classic.

  28. I'm an American, who, even if I was rooting for The USA, I thought that Canada was a sure thing for The Gold. In any case, I think that they'd (Canada) play very well, but, it is the way things go. Maybe Sid The Kid would have made a difference (or not). We can't look back.

  29. Example of an analogy is the Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman Fight. We all were thinking that Ali was going to get pummeled, but, quite to the contrary, he knocked out George Foreman.
