The gold medal game was what the all-star game wishes it was. The speed and tenacity of that gold medal game was phenomenal!
This loss further proves Connor McDavid is not a good leader. The team looked flat without Crosby the past 2 games compared to the other games played. Even with the attempts they had all game against USA they still looked flat. Toughness beats talent in hockey and USA was the tougher team. Look at the past 2 years who won the Stanley cup. The tough Florida panthers not the flashy big named talented Edmonton Oilers. Toughness comes from the captain and the team will rally behind that. Not an emotional, all for their self hot head like mcdavid. It’s a disgrace to give him the Captain position whenever there’s far better leaders on the team that have actually won the Stanley cup!!!

DK idk how you’re saying it’s not as simple as Sid not wearing the C and Connor McDavid being captain isn’t the reason they lost ? Lazy play from that bum is routine at this point you have never seen Crosby as lazy and self centered of a player as he is even in dull moments I’ve never seen Sid just give up on plays the way he does. I guarantee you his non existent personality other than throwing temper tantrums at players gave the team anything to work off of. I bet he was quiet as a mouse the whole time because he can’t be his Edmonton “McJesus” way where he can do no wrong and down talk to his team it’s different when he’s around superstars. It’s the same as Ovetchkin they’re both self centered lazy players that are not good leaders at all… and leaders lead by example how would you like to be playing behind a guy that just gives up on players whenever things don’t go his way. There’s a reason why Sid has 3 cups, it took ovetchkin almost his whole career to get 1 and McDavid has 0. With all of this being said McDavid and Ovetchkin are both great Hockey players some of the best but they are horrific team captains

Given that the gold medal game yesterday was probably the fastest, highest intensity hockey game ever played, I totally understand Sid and Team Canada’s decision not to have him play if he wasn’t 100%. He really couldn’t have been a factor if he wasn’t able to keep up with the ridiculous pace of play we saw in yesterday’s game.
That being said, I really think Team Canada missed his leadership, demeanor, and his play, especially in tight situations in the offensive zone.
I’m glad Canada lost for 2 reasons. Reason 1 it makes Crosby look good. For people to even ask the question if they would’ve won if they had Crosby speaks volumes. Reason 2 Crosby is a very smart guy, very humble and I’m sure he’s having doubts as he’s getting older about his game but this proves he’s a major difference maker in play and still the best overall hockey player in the league. This should light a fire under his ass to want to get a cup this year and shouldn’t leave him with any doubts about his game. How poetic would it be if they meet the oilers in the finals and they lose to Crosby and skinner oh how I’d love to see it. But my money is on a MacKinnon and Crosby Stanley cup final. Time will tell but the penguins are the real deal and Crosby is still the biggest deal in hockey and will continue to be. Mark my words Sidney Crosby will be wearing the big C on a red Jersey in 2030 and they will win if he stays healthy throughout the tournament.
This is why i constantly say anytime someone says mcdavid is the best player in the world, no he is not, sid at 38 is still the best player. In the biggest games at the biggest moments mcdavid has NOT DELIVERD
Crosby is the same age this year as Jagr was playing for Czechia in the 2010 Olympics

2. Penalty kill 100%
3. Hughes brothers + Hellebuyck
It's sou refreshing to not next four years listening how unbeatable is Canada 🙂
