Minnesota Wild fans are buzzing as Yakov Trenin powers his way toward a franchise single-season hits record, reshaping the physical identity of the third line alongside Danila Yurov and Vladimir Tarasenko. Has Trenin finally found his role, and could his impact make the Wild a tougher playoff contender? Danila Yurov continues to impress, exceeding rookie expectations in a bottom-six role and showcasing versatility reminiscent of Ryan Hartman—his chemistry with Tarasenko is quietly fueling the team’s offensive depth.
Seth Toupal scrutinizes Marcus Foligno’s injury-plagued campaign, raising questions about his future value and whether the Wild can get more out of their depth forwards. Insights include Trenin’s resurgence following a disappointing season, Yurov’s rapid adjustment from the KHL, and the critical importance of building consistent production across all lines. The episode also sets the stage for a high-stakes Olympic showdown between Team USA and Sweden, with goalie Filip Gustavsson’s performance under the microscope.

Keep up the great work, Seth!
Was there an episode with Denny this week?
Yes, Yurov has exceeded expectations! Especially with his ability to move up and fill in on the 1st and not look out of place. Hopefully, he can work on faceoffs in the offseason and get up to closer to 50%.
Seth, I know we talked about getting a bottom D guy who is a big physical player who can hit and block shots but do you think the Wild need to get a bottom 6 guy, also, who can do the same to replace Foligno?
Thanks for another great episode!! Love the saying The Kremline !!!
Danila has well exceeded expectations. If he can master the face-offs he could be a first line center.
Cal Clutterbuck made a career of leading the Nhl in hits.
Yes Trenin has exceeded expectations. Contract is what it is.
Have the core muscles surgeries caught up with Marcus.
I like Yuorv but I was hoping for a bit more offensively and a bit more flash. I wasn't expecting Kirill 2.0 but wasn't expecting Marat 2.0 either……..Yurov isn't the second coming of Sergei Fedorov BUT he should be able to carve out a nice little NHL career as a 2C or 3C on a cup contender. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets traded.
I had high expectations or yurov before the season. Yes I bought into the hype, but after the forst few goes I came back to reality and I would say he's meeting my expectations. Definitely setting a good standard to build on
