  1. If I had to make an educated guess from the outside looking in, the problem with Toronto is guys like Matthews. Making him captain made it even worse, how can you expect the team to go all in for such a douchbag of a leader, why should I work harder or care more than my captain?

  2. Or how about you ask for 10-12Mil and actually come to play when it matters the most? Blame Toronto all day but you asked for 10mill+ and the disappear when it matters the most. Be a grown ass adult and play your salary.

  3. Born and raised here but thankfully coerced into being a Habs fan by my East Coast father and I can confirm the fan base is indeed toxic. Honestly many of them aren't even very knowledgeable on the sport. Many are trend hoppers.

  4. Every time I see this guy in a video I think he’s the Great Value Mitch Marner and now I am convinced he’s a clone of Mitch. From Smashville with love.

  5. On Team Canada, he obviously has a lot more help than on the Leafs. As a passer, he sees so many possibilities in a play.
But he also has people who believe in him and pass him the puck. It's not like it has to be just one way.
Celebrini saw him and believed in him, so he said, 'Mitch! Do your thing!', and he did.
    Sometimes that's all it takes.
In Toronto, there are still people who resent his contract. They are supposed to be fans. They don't decide what he makes. That's based on the market and management's belief in him.
But still, people make comments like they're running the team. They go way beyond what a fan should rightly do.
The worst was people publishing his private information and showing up at his house after the Florida series.
He had to hire private security because he was concerned about his wife and infant.
I don't know what it is about being a Leaf fan. People lose their minds over this team.
    It's pro sports people.
    Get a grip!

  6. Mitch's OT winner was possibly the best 3 on 3 goal I have seen. Paul Henderson was also castigated for peaking when it counts the most. Very often during regular season matches in T.O. Marner would be the most effective player including both teams. it was the entire team that underperformed in the playoffs.

  7. Didn’t everyone learn from Phil The Thrill Kessel? as soon as he left Toronto he won back to back Stanley Cup Champion and later won one more just because he can.
