  1. Everyone needs to calm down. It's one season and guess what. When the team is healthy and running with all pistons firing, they play a good playoff style game (which is what we all asked for..) People need to trust the process and understand you can't always have a straight uphill climb… It'll be fine leafs nation, breath.

  2. How about a poll..Leafs Management, Coaching staff, players in seperate categories. Also…totally unacceptable how they screwed up the Marner scenerio.

  3. Larry Murphy got it right . The Fans don't know what They R talking about.
They stopped teaching how to play Hockey correctly by the late 70s
That is why when the Goalies started beating the Players to the puck in the corners around 1990 all the time , the Fans had NO CLUE why and allow the NHL to invent the Trapezoids
Nobody asked " Where is the Player who is supposed to be covering the Corner"
Do a show about this topic

  4. I was saying all last year that Berube's system was dogshit and if not for an unsustainble level of goaltending they wouldnt have made playoffs and here we are. They look exactly like last year… getting outshot and out possessed literally every game. Spending 80% of games in their own end just like last year. The difference is they don't have 2 goalies posting a 2.00GAA and a .925 SV%.

You think Matthews randomly went from being the most dangerous scorer in the league to struggling offensively the second Berube took over?

  5. So you're saying we need a GM with an eye for young talent that has the trust to make moves without a babysitter. Sounds like a guy we had what his name? Ah Dubas.

  6. In all honesty, clean house, from management down..Pelley isnt a hockey guy, he is a money guy, Tre' has not lived up to expectations, Berube, sure i like him, but i think at least 70% of the players he has do not want to play the style of game he wants them to play. There are some very good players on the leafs, but for some reason they are unable to form a cohesive group, they seem unable to work as a unit….And lets leave Tanev out of any discussions, i think he is done, if he does play next year (big if) i think he will be finished permanently by the 20 game mark, i love his game, but one more concussion and i think the Doctors will tell him "unless you want be a cabbage, no more hockey" Bud".

  7. This has been a long time coming. Trading away picks and prospects for aging veterans every trade deadline was never a good idea. Now we have very few good prospects and no pick in the first round this year.

Management needs to take a long-term approach and build the team properly draft and develop young players. Until then, unless they trade their best players, which would be dumb because their value will be low, expect more of the same.

  8. At least for my lifetime, Leafs are doomed. Sadly, we never witness the buds raising the cup.

  9. Each forward line has at least one guy who is below average in ways that count to win. We have a few good defence but no true number one. Two of our three goalies are made of glass. There is a lot of work to do here.

  10. I think it is not just the gm and coaching the players are far from dedicated enough. It seems more like the players are more about selfish stat padding. No when the going gets tuff the leafs give up. They never play a whole game

  11. I remember the "Harold Ballard days" and this is looking very very similar. He was often quoted as saying:
    1) "The seats are selling out every game": Ballard argued that because demand for tickets remained high despite poor performance, spending money to improve the team was a waste of resources.

    2) "I'm in the business of making money": He viewed the team strictly as a "money cow" and an investment, rather than a pursuit for trophies.

    3) "Why are you asking me to pay for something for your gratification?": Ballard believed that if fans wanted a better team, they should be the ones to pay higher prices for it, not him.

    4) Disdain for "stupid" trophies: He questioned the value of winning, telling critics, "What do I get in Return? A stupid trophy?". If this sounds familiar, get ready for the days of "nothing"

He was correct, however, in that, as long as fans pack the seats, and buy the merch' there is no incentive for ANY billionaire to spend money for a cup. Remember folks, Billionaires care about money NOT cups. Any team that spends money for a cup is to be cheered. Sad but true people. I'd boycott the team. Watch highlights on you tube. The owners will understand that language.

  12. The Leafs are run as a business, overseen by a president, who lacks hockey knowledge and a group of vice-presidents. There is zero direction.

  13. If you're just gonna promote Pridham to GM after Treliving was fired, then what was the point of hiring Shanahan hiring Treliving in the 1st place? After all, he left Calgary in a mess as well.

  14. Ed F@cken is the problem Ed Rogers basically owns every Toronto team and all he cares about is making money and thus saving money not good. Biggest example Not wanting to pay for Bo Bichette like he did with Vlad . Ed will only go so far then will not want to pay for that extra player that more likely win the Toronto team the championship or the cup

  15. Leafs never buy in to any system by any coach! Get rid of the players!!! It's all on the players!! I wouldn't care if they even had Scotty Bowman behind the bench, they still would not play any better! Wake up people; what is wrong with all of you??? Get rid of MLSE!!! Quit trying to build around Mathews. These players don't have what it takes to go all the way!! They only come in and show up to collect their entertainment paychecks. Cut their salaries and really make them work for their money as they are all way over paid!!! And the dumb fans continue to support them every year!!! Stop attending games and maybe some real changes will happen!!! Wake the F up!!

  16. Both of you don't know what you're talking about…this has nothing to do with Berube!!! Wake up!!! It's all on the players!!!

  17. Its not remotely fair, but the one thing that can be done this week is to fire Berube.
Pay him well and roll the dice. Short term hire.
Look no further than what Gabby did in Vancouver.

  18. Part of the problem is the condensed schedule and then the average age of the team at 29.29 Years Old, which is 27th out of 32 teams. How can the Leafs win the Division last season and then fall in the opposite direction with basically the same team except for Marner. Treiliving has no vision where he insists on signing 35 Year Old Players instead of looking for 25 Year Old Players.

  19. You’re insane if you think that Toronto, the Center of the Hockey Universe, is a prime destination for top NHL free agents. The media is too intrusive, the fans have unrealistic expectations (how, I’m not sure), the cost of living, especially housing, in Toronto is off the charts, Winter weather is harsh (although not as bad as Winnipeg) and most importantly Canadian tax rates are confiscatory. Dallas, Nashville, Tampa Bay and South Florida are all just the opposite of that.

  20. I personally don't like how the team is built on the first and second line I am a firm believer you need to have a power forward or an enforcer on a wing it would help to create more room for the center and other wing to put the puck in the net people need to be nervous when you play them

  21. Riches team in the NHL so trying to save money ? So what is Roger's doing with the money. Move over Harold Keith is come to lay beside you… Here goes another 60 yrs almost!

  22. Or i got a better one, I can fill the arena even if it's the farm team playing.Stop buying outrageous priced tickets and that will show how mad I or we lol really are.

  23. We are in a bad spot, no draft picks, few prospects, and we all aware we are not good enough to win a Cup, so how do we get better?
Can't trade all the names that have been mentioned, but the MUST trades need to be OEL, for nothing less than a 1st and something else. Trade Stolarz as well for a very high pick or 2 picks.
Don't tade McMann, resign him, you trade him and then try to get a 25 goal scorer on the market and see what you will pay.
Same for Roy and Laughton, we worked hard to get that botton 6 centre depth, why trade them and then try to find replacements, that are better….because remember the whole point is to get better!
    😮
