The suzi we see in montreal is a completely different scenario than the one on team canada.. suzi is clutch for Habs on pp and late when the need a goal.. not getting those opportunities on canada.. his role on canada is the same minutes that gallagher or evans gets for the habs..
Montreal needs to offload carry Struble and bring in some big tough mobile defenseman. Montreal may have 62 or 63 defenceman but they play like 5 foot nine no toughness to their game easy to move out of the way.

I'm starting to think we need at least one sweedish born player on our team. Engstrom is our only sweed that I know of. If Matheson were to miss a few games or anyone on our current roster, we know he can come up and play. Like he's NHL ready and that depth counts. I still think we also need one big defense first d man in our system somewhere. I don't think we should drop reinbacher because he does slot in perfect here once he's developed.
If we were thinking specifically about defensive depth we would have to like what we have (Hutson, Dobson, Matheson, Ghule) and then also having two guys who are nearly ready. Also Struble and Xhekay have been playing pretty good, and I think improving.
It's a good situation. We're really close on defense. We also have some injured guys who can come back and help.
I do not think we should go all out for a player that doesn't truly truly fir our system, and at a good price.
I also know that we may not be able to sign every single player we have in our system. It's likely going to get difficult at some point, so maybe trading two guys for one, or two prospects and some picks.
I dunno exactly how it's going to work out with our cap situation, but maybe we need to think about that a little.

Sometimes doing the right thing for the team doesn't make you stand out, that's Suzuki right now he is not there for personal glory he is there to play the part given by the coach. Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!
Reinbacher points per game is lower than last season. The kid needs to play in Laval the rest of the season for sure.
I've mentioned previously, IMO Montreal needs a bigger defensive D-man.
I don't need Suzuki to score goals but he needs to put up points, 1 point out of 60 so far canada is just not enough
Suzuki is an awesome no 1 shutdown and 2 way center against opposing top lines at 5 on 5… Yes he scores a lot on PP (again awesome!) but he is still +25 (remember only even strength goals count for differential). Once we start playing better opposition at olympics we'll see him shine!

Fans turning on Nick?? Really I am happy I don't pay attention to others. Nick is amazing. We are lucky to have him.
Do not bash Suzuki! He will get better each game and you know it. He's never gone backwards. Have faith my friends .
If we move one of either Dach or Newhook, I would move Newhook. Probably has a bit better trade value. Dach has looked good with Suzi and Cole
Such a hard choice…. But it's great to have these hard decisions in a way… We have so much depth it's insane…. I would keep them both.
I don't have much interest watching team USA.. thinking about Hutson and Caufield upset me.
Suzuki is more of a big game player, I wouldn't be surprised to see him step it up in the elimination rounds and/or medal games. He's been doing decent so far, but it's hard to shine when you have players like McDavid and MacKinnon. For Pete sakes, we haven't lost a game or even been in any close games. People need to chill out.
