Sweden defeats Slovakia 5-3 in Olympic men’s hockey, but the real story is how Slovakia can secure the top spot in Group B thanks to a clutch late goal from Dalibor Dvorsky. Sweden needed a bigger margin to win the group, and despite huge performances from Elias Pettersson, Lucas Raymond, and Adrian Kempe, Slovakia’s resilience changed the outcome of the standings.
Juraj Slafkovský continued to dominate at the Olympics, reinforcing his status as Slovakia’s most dangerous offensive weapon, while Samuel Hlavaj faced heavy pressure and delivered key saves throughout the game.
In this video, Shaun Starr and Marco D’Amico break down the biggest standouts, key turning points, and what this means for Team Slovakia, Team Sweden, and Montreal Canadiens star Juraj Slafkovský moving forward in the Olympic tournament.
If you’re a Habs fan or Olympic hockey fan, this is must-watch analysis on the future of Slafkovský, Sweden’s elite NHL talent, and the race for Olympic gold.

Imagine a Slovakia Canada Final
Seems they made the right decision picking him at 1OA. Really needed this type of player on the team.
Hey Folks, I follow your channel on regural basis, i've just subscribed. Best regards from Slovakia !
Well… we'll have to start questionning/asking why the CH took Reinbacher instead of Dvorski!!? Oucchhh.
Moving back to the LW was huge for slaf
Forget about Jordan Kyrou we need to get Dalibor Dvorsky from St-Louis
As a Canadian, I am really hoping Slovakia wins a medal. They play with heart
Not to compare him to the Steve Shutt, but Kapananen is like him at the right place to knock in those rebounds
Impressive on the big stage, he is Slovakia’s real leader. Suzuki seems to be struggling though. Playing with MacKinnon requires high speed and that’s not Suzuki’s game so it’s good to see him on his own line. Hopefully he starts to impact
No longer second half Slaf , it's now Full time beast Slaf
What a wonderful contract Kent gave to Slafkovsky
Slaf becoming Cam Neely ….i think he could reach 100 point seasons at his peak.
Napriek prehre Slovensko vyradilo Švédsko Bravó 👏👏👏👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🇸🇰🇸🇰👏👏👏👏👏🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰
Raymond had a great game, but cost Sweden the group win at the end with his stupid slashing penalty. As a Slovakian definitely not complaining ✌️
strelbu 😀thank you guys for rooting for us! ur awesome
Half way through the video and no mention of Simon Nemec, as a Habs fan i need that guy on our roster!
Oliver Kapanen’s trade value ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
The Canadiens will be using 'Rocket' fuel if Slaf, Hage, and the others get going….
Scotty bowman has said it many times , there’s rarely working trios in the nhl , there’s duos that are complimented by a third guy . Slafkovsky was misused with Montreal , feeling force to give the puck away to Suzuki and caufield
Now Kapanen is the perfect compliment , he’s responsible and backchecks and great on faceoffs , the “1st line” need a big aggressive forechecking winger to go fetch pucks for Suzuki and caufield .
Slafkovsky plays well every time he’s on the same team as Nemec . If somehow Montreal could put a package to go get Nemec they should do it
If team Finland is going to keep not using Kapanen can Slovakia borrow him so he can play with Slafkovsky lol
Finland-Slovakia rematch for the bronze
Brotherx nationx
Greetings from Slovakia, nice video! (Pozdravujem zo Slovenska, pekné video!)
@10:40, Marco is bang on. I've always said MTL will be at their strongest when the vets are Suzuki (29), Dobson (29) and Caufield (28), and the young core of Slaf, Demi, Hutson and others are doing the heavy lifting.
Slovakia lets gooooooooooooo
good job lads. thnaks from Slovak in Germany.
I would not recommend cooking with gasoline.
I have said for the past 3-4 years, that Slafkovsky is another Vaclav Nedomansky who was a superstar on the Czeckoslovakia national team in the 1960's and 1970's… Czechoslovakia were world champs in 1972, primarily because of Nedomansky's performance. They beat that strong Soviet team of 72…
We're my Slovaks at from the front to back!
