I’m not entirely sold on the goalies. As great as Fowler already is, most goals against go in because he doesn’t cover enough net. Not sure his ceiling is that much higher than what he’s already showing. I’d be over the moon if they somehow managed to get Wallstedt who seems to be available. I think a goalie like him is the only thing holding them back from seriously contending.
Maybe shore up the defense/goaltending a bit. But thats also a sign of a young team. I see them making a deep cup run in the next 2-4 years.
Hutson is the best contract BY FAR , not Suzuki lol
people aren't talking about their size. Washington bullied them last year primarily because of how small their core is
Might be biased out there but being the 3rd offense in the league with Zharovsky + Hage comming next year is insane. We basically have another Demidov + a top 6 center in Hage. Add to that we're the youngest team in the league. What a time to be a habs fan.
As much as I love the guy and deserves it the worst contact atm is Brendan Gallagher

I think the Habs defensive numbers have been bad is because their goalies haven’t been very good
Do people actually think the Matheson contract is bad? I know he's not perfect but he's an absolute minute muncher in all situations. I think he's very underrated and everyones favorite whipping boy!

Thing is, the analytics can never capture the chemistry….Suzuki has eyes in the back of his head, Slafkosky knows where everyone is, Hutson isn't even human….all in all, a dangerous team. (and I didn't mention Caufield or Dobson…)
How’d you forget about Kapanen! Also I think Gallagher’s contract is the worst, 6.5 mil for him through next year and it’s clear he can’t play like he used to anymore 😢

I didn’t love the Dobson contract when I saw it, but I honestly think he should be on team Canada. Has become reliable on defense and offence and has the most blocked shots in the league.

The Habs are top five in the league since the 4 Nations games, great offense but more work in the defense plays, good goaltenders. But we are missing one big top 6 player to be a real game changer!!!
We are expecting deeper than 1st round THIS year. Next year, the dynasty begins.
If NHL was overtime only league. Only games (3v3). Habs win cup!! They trending upwards but unfortunately will get bullied in playoffs. They are so entertaining to watch.

I agree for the most part. The things I don't agree with is that Suzuki contract is a Bergevin deal secondly matheson contract is not even a top 5 bad contract on this team. Pick either one of danault/gallagher/anderson for worst contract.

Habs with .905%+ goaltending and a healthy core is a serious problem for most playoff bound teams.
If the Rocket hadn’t been suspended for the 1955 playoffs, they may have beaten Detroit and gone on to win 6 cups in a row.
Montréal is the 3 team in NHL from the 4 nation break. Don't forget he still have some player will come in the next few years, Zarofsky, Hage, folwer, Florian xejkaj, Beck, eggstrom and rinbacher. Don't think the Stanley Cup windows is open before 28-29.

Montreal might have the best foundation of any team in the league. Really good contracts for their top guys. Hage, Zhuravksy, Reinbacher, and Fowler coming next year. East is going to run through Montreal for a while.
Shame that time flies. PK Subban's play would have fit well with this crew. I like the games near the end, they have confidence and don't panic. I'm afraid at least one or two guys might get injured.

How about shadiest contract. Other people told me Laine doesn’t backcheck before he returned to the team last year. He doesn’t get back that well. So not well with the outrageously best PP goal shot in the league that I sincerely thought he faked this years injury. No shit. He’d be great on PP II if nothing else IMHO.
