Dobson reportedly wants 11 million per on his next contract. Yeah, he’s not even worth 8. Maybe 7 at max.

Podcasters in Boston are saying that Sweeney is talking to the Islanders to swing the 7th pick to the Islanders to allow them to grab Hagen in exchange for Dobson and maybe Lohrei. With Dobson in the fold, the Bs would be stout on D with McAvoy, Lindholm, Zadorov and Dobson. Couple this with Swayman having a great spring Tournament, Sweeney will have set his back end nicely for the upcoming season. Again, as Sweeney stated at his end of the season presser, the Bs are returning to a defensive focus next season and if they get Dobson, you are looking at a very tough, physical and experienced D in front of Swayman, Sturm just made a big move bringing Steve Spott from Dallas on to the coaching staff so there is real hope that the Bs special teams will be strong next year. If Dobson happens, last move for Sweeny is to sure up the forward position. Don't think Sweeney is going after any big names because this is Pasternak's team. This hasn't been reported, but Sweeney has a nice chip in Mike Dipietro. A 2017 Canucks draft pick, DiPietro (25) had a great season in Providence last year and took a very average Providence team to the 2nd round of the AHL playoffs before a very physical Capitals AHL team targeted DiPietro and took him out of the series Oilers need a goaltender and Nugent Hopkins for DiPietro makes sense if McDavid resigns, Maybe wishful thinking, maybe not. But if this were to go down, Bs would be ready to go and the battles between Florida and Boston would be awesome this coming season.
Someone is feeding him false info. What he is asking for is superstar / champion money. Is not either. Doubt he stays with the NYI next season.
