  1. So sell or trade all the guys that Playland and want to be a Leaf, so we can hold onto those over payed millionaires who play when they feel like it and could care less where their money comes from. Typical Leaf move. Maybe time to start supporting a team that cares about hockey more then their owners care about revenues.

  2. Wonder why from trade rumors and sports insiders that leafs looking at LD/RD Mario Ferraro and other players on different teams

  3. Tanev and Marner are the biggest holes to fill. You probably can’t get another Marner but there are a number of top 4 defence available and if Tanev comes back late this year or the playoffs (assuming we squeeze in) even better. Domi had a good week in early Feb but we don’t know if he can keep it going for the rest of the year. A top line right wing is going to be the hardest hole to fill.

  4. Now Robbers has full ownership we dont know if Tre' has his hands tied to some degree, it would not be the first time it has happened in a sports franchise, it should be a interesting run up to the trade deadline.

  5. BM and BC have to be offered for a first round pick. That would minimize the errors made last year, and would give the fans something to hope for during the next few painful seasons. Admit you made a mistake and make moves to fix it. (Less than a 1st? Pass)

  6. The problem with the Leafs going big is that they have no assets, outside of Knies, which they can go big with.
Freeing up Marner's salary didn't work so freeing up cap space doesn't always pay off.
Both Matthews and Nylander will take time off after the Olympics.

  7. If TOR management think they have a chance this year that just proves 100% that the management is and has always been why TOR will NEVER win a Cup!
All the ownership has ever cared about is making money.
The ONLY way TOR will ever be forced to actually try to win a Cup is if they start making less money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. All of this speculation is ridiculous. If the leafs trade some of their more capable players like McMann and Eckman Larson for draft picks or even draft picks and prospects, both Matthews and Nylander will be past their prime by the time they amount to anything. In fact, I predict Matthews would leave in that case anyway. Even if they think they could parlay some of those draft picks and prospects into something useful at the trade deadline, it’s a crazy gamble. There may not be sufficient players either available or willing to come to Toronto at that point.

  9. Rogers (who owns 75% of MLSE ) SAID NO MAJOR MOVES, therefore there wont be. minor trades like mcMann maybe. but thats not a major trade as these guys suggest in video any move is major. lol. as for rielly yea hes not worth the 7.5 mill. u cant buy him out or you will have 2-3 mill against cap hit atleast next 8 yrs. thats no good. So he needs to leave willingly to sharks maybe that are interested
if hes just gunna say "F you im staying and not lifting NTC.well, assigned to ahl his 7.5mill dont count against cap hit, waivers, press box

  10. Rogers owning the leafs now basically fuks everything up, oilers could literally offer mcdavid right now for mathews and MLSE would say "no" as we sell many jerseys. i dont believe they have knowledge of hockey thats needed. rogers ???? wtf…leafs are doomed…

  11. The problem is even if the Leafs acquire by buying 2 or 3 stars, the Leafs will still have too many question marks on their current roster to go deep into the playoffs even with that addition. The correct move for the Leafs to make is to sell every player in the Leafs system that is over the age of 29 for picks and prospects and then pick well during the draft even though the Leafs may not make the playoffs this year it will be a small price to pay as the Leafs will become a much stronger team a few years down the road.
However, it is already a given that Treliving is not the type of GM that will make the correct move. As has been seen with how much he destroyed the Calgary Flames, his moves are usually very dubious at best. And on top of that fact is the fact that the upper most management of the Leafs namely Rogers, is not keen on seeing the Leafs miss the playoffs this year.

  12. uhmm nylon is still a meatball so he is automatically a useless plug who shouldn't be in the national league to begin with

  13. If the Leafs trade for Hamilton then after 60 years of being a Leafs fan I am done.
