  1. The rest of the season is good if they make the playoffs. It's bad if they don't. The deadline is basically immediately after the break. Major concern if they miss and don't sell off assets.

  2. No Kevin Hayes …….and bring up Averey and McGroaty. Then get a good defender that can bolster up your defense.

  3. Considering they were universally picked to be the bottom of the league at the start of the season, I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't win the cup but it's nice to root for a contender again.

  4. So obviously not a flyers fan BUT I have season tickets for the flyers. We are hockey fans and just want to watch hockey and live near Philly. Michkov is hard into a sophomore slump. He tried playing him more with Zegras and it was a disaster and didn’t last more than the first period. I saw them get on the ice together and knew it would be bad. I hope for good hockey and so often it falls short. He is building a tougher side which will be good in the long run. I thought Michkov himself said he didn’t come in a great shape. Like hadn’t been skating at all. We saw what happened with Swayman just missing camp did. I do love Vladar though he has made the team so much better and he is just fun to watch. Ersson has had moments of greatness but the rest of the time, yeah. I’ve now been watching the phantoms (when the Penguins are there), and what they have done while in the NHL they need help. Big time. I sit 5 rows off the ice directly behind Vladar and yeah I think he will be great for them.

  5. Taking a look at the roster: They seem set at depth at really every position outside of maybe RD (and I like Ilya so that's a maybe) They have a log jam at wing between what is the starting line up and the young guys. Of their bottom six, Acciari would be the most likely to be bumped for an Avery Hayes or McGroarty, but do you mess with the best fourth line in the league? The first line has been perhaps the weakest link on the team. All of this is to say it would seem that if they were to make a move at the deadline the only ones that would really make sense would be to pick up a high end winger or a shutdown RD you can trust late in games when you have the lead. Their window is open now, it's time to add to the NHL roster.

  6. The Pens should take on Laine. They can get a bigger asset attached because they have the cap space to eat his entire salary.

  7. The baby penguins are having so much fun. I’ve watched them and you can just tell. Avery Hayes when he went back down got his first hat trick. Absolutely wild and really are a joy to watch.

  8. one of the funniest things about these podcasts is the tough voice at the beginning that says "straight up analysis, no fluff, all hockey"

then we get to hear about dan's watches, or travel stories. this is genuinely not hate, i find it ironically funny and enjoyable
