  1. QUESTION OF THE DAY — What Are YOUR Thoughts On Both The Gavin McKenna Situation, AND The Blackhawks Getting Robbed Of A Potential Top-10 Pick?

  2. This is such a strange story. How and why did this fact remain hidden from the public up to now, 11 months later??

  3. Jack, you would think that the Blackhawks and Panthers knew the entire time that the Florida 2026 1st round pick was top ten protected. It would be absolutely insane if they did not know that. They negotiated the deal!

  4. STOP…..think about what you’re saying….NOTHING CHANGED FOR THE PANTHERS and their thought process on the season….they and the Hawks made the trade , they agreed on the details last March , it’s not new them!
It’s new to everyone else in the world

  5. I doubt the Panthers will finish in the bottom 10 – too much talent, even with their injuries.

  6. This is just a massive L for this management group, EVERY SINGLE writer, reporter, podcaster who has access to this team.. Why would I give this team any money when nobody can do their job and there is ZERO transparency with the fans. Lost all faith in KD and this group. Absolutely pathetic

  7. What happened to this organizations commitment to transparency? The Blackhawks knew about this since the trade happened, didn't report it themselves, allowed fans and networks to speculate for over a year about how high a pick the Hawks would get from Florida all for some outside reporter to expose the entire thing.

  8. I agree with you Jack, Frank acted as if he knew this all along and everyone else was stupid. He never once mentioned this “small” detail.

  9. Even Panthers fans were blindsided by this little revelation. No one knew because it was never reported until now. Honestly this may not affect anything because I’m sure the Panthers will manage to get into the playoffs, but that’s not the point. I think the Blackhawks, Panthers, and the NHL itself should make it mandatory that when a trade or transaction of any kind happens every detail should be made clear and public.

  10. It's certainly a strange misreported mess but now for 100% clarity, is the pick top 10 protected before or after the lottery?
I.e. if it's the 11th pick and belongs to the Hawks, what if that pick wins the lottery?

  11. Hawks stole the top pick a couple years ago. Also, it's the Hawks, so their loss is a win for the rest of the League.

  12. Why are we saying they got robbed? Clearly the Blackhawks FO knew the protections when they agreed on the trade.

  13. If the Blackhawks don't get this year's pick then they get the Panthers next year's first round pick unprotected. This year's Panthers have been injury prone. Next year Barkov will be back and they probably will be drafting in the twenties range. Panthers still might make it to the playoffs this year. Best the Blackhawks can hope for is a draft pick in the teens this year.

  14. No wonder American prisons are full, if you get 20 years for a bar fight. McKenna is more valuable now.
