    If you live in the spotlight, you cannot be disrespectful to those who follow you. Regardless of the reason why he did it, an apology from him means nothing. For what its worth, that's the most emotion I have ever seen in him. Too bad he doesn't give more when he plays.

    For those who fall into the camp “don’t apologize”, we are paying him tens of millions of dollars to proudly represent the maple leafs and lead by example. Is giving the finger the worst thing in the world? No – but it is extremely tone deaf to do so when your team is underperforming, known for not giving a consistent effort game by game and on top of it all on a “next gen”night geared towards younger fans.

    If you’re mentally checked out request a trade , if not..lock the fuck in.

    I am devastated, I don't think I will ever get over the emotional shock of witnessing William Nylander flipping his middle finger on TV, and now they keep showing it over and over, I think I am going to have to go for trauma counselling, I can't get the image out of my head, i still see it when i close my eyes, Make it stop, make it stop, Oh the horror, the horror😱

    the worst thing to ever happen to hockey was hockey media. report the score, analyze the play that's it everything else is bullshit that nobody fucking cares about and nobody wants to hear it. 5-10 minutes of content max that's all you need, if I had to deal with these dumbass vultures every day I'd flip them off every day. Get healthy, come back score goals and give the games your all, that's all I care about. "who was it directed at?" he wont answer but I will, he's watchign his team lose from the press box is pissed off he's not playing and trying to help and you've got a camera on him off and on…he's flipping you off, the media and he's right.

    I feel bad for Willie, he's getting alot of flack for this, but I feel worse for the growing fans that probably will think flipping the bird is "cool" or o.k.
    I understand he's frustrated, but that small lil' act will be forever remembered, it tarnished his character a bit.
    Love ya, Willie, but didn't love the bird.
