Bowman has made moves that makes ZERO sense. Leaving Jeff Skinner on the bench most of the playoffs last run shows that knob should also leave. Both have run the team into the ground
Bouchard like many played with zero urgency or focus. It’s great to play the superstars but the entire teams names go on the cup not just the stars because all are needed to win. Picard appears to be a popular player and maybe being waived is not helping the team mentality . 46 years watching this team and it’s hard to believe they are playing with out unity and focus.

I hope Pickard terminates his contract and moves on. He deserved a better fate for what he has contributed.
I'd add this, Tristan Harry's numbers after 10 games are similar to Pickard's after 16 games. What did that extra four million buy you?
Nurse game play Im not impressed and Bouchard is not a defensive defenseman he makes a lot of mistakes,many can say his points speak for itself but ,he does log a lot of ice time with the big players on the team , thats does help but Bouchards 4 year 42,000,000.00 dollar contract is outrageous and Nurse is very close to the same, that really hurts the teams cap space to aquire solid stay home defenseman and, they sure are hurting!

Knoblock was a good coach but has fallen short , he doesnt give the bottom six enough min , other teams are rolling all four lines and we keep over playing 5 guys , yiu cant win games or go far in the playoffs , McDavid should not be on the penalty kill , I feel Knoblock panics all the time , and its hard to perform on the bottom six when your only getting 4 min a game, so either knoblock needs to look himself in the mirror , or step down and let someone else take the reins , or worse off be fired .
My teams are the Habs and Oilers because they have been the most fun teams to watch but Edmonton hasn't been that much fun. Leon and Connor cannot drag the whole team. They have their magic.

Oilers need a tight structured, defense-first system (instead of the current system that emphasizes defenceman pinching in trying to score), with high defensive physicality and a in-your-face style of play -use tight gap control, to force errors, especially on the PK. Screen opponent goalie (not your own), with a shoot first, slam the rebound home style.
Lots of people have lost their jobs over this shenanigans. In very short I think this issue this team has is the massive contracts for defensive players that have hamstrung the teams ability to play good defense and find a top tier net minder. Neither Nurse or Bouchard are worth what they are paid for the job they are doing. Nurse is a net neutral at best, and I don’t care how many goals Bouchard scores, yes he’s a great player, but he is not worth his pay check. Not when we can’t keep pucks out of the net. The oilers are the definition of a glass cannon. Good luck finding solutions while your hands are tied. Bowman did a fantastic job of that. It’s super sad, but I think this team is cooked until something drastic happens.
Paul Coffey needs to come back and fix the defence, as for Knobby, I believe his days are numbered as he keeps switching up the lines, not giving the boys to build chemistry.

The whole team needs to play better both ends of the ice. They need an intervention of some sort – sounds cheesy, but it's true. As of now, they aren't contenders, not even close.
either they are saving their juice for the playoffs or… they're missing a lot of pieces. at the very least you have to hope the other pieces start firing when the playoffs start

i actually kinda dont like drai's or jarry's comments. they are too late. play better in the games. be better prepared. come out hungrier. take it upon your self to yell at your teammates in the locker room and on the bench. or during practices. or the day before the game. get in the coach's face – or the gm. all of that might lead to something meaningful. but this comes off as a little weak – political.
