The Florida Panthers have hit a skid—four straight losses capped by a gut-punch 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres after Florida jumped out 2–0 and still couldn’t land the plane.
We break down what’s gone sideways, what’s fixable, and what’s not.
We also talk about a Latvia-flavored twist: Sandis Vilmanis and Uvis Balinskis both find the back of the net vs. Buffalo.
Sam Bennett exits early against the Sabres, but is named to Team Canada.
Meanwhile Sasha Barkov is skating, and there’s optimism that Brad Marchand and Anton Lundell could be trending toward a return soon.
Load the panic meter, but, as always, there’s a little hope…

The Panthers might be done. They do have lots of injured players. Despite that there’s no free bingo spot on the bingo card anymore. It’s gonna be hard to catch ,Tampa,Montreal,Detroit,Buffalo .
It's one season, they just won two cups. Plus went to the playoffs the year before. That's three seasons of hockey plus three playoffs, which also reduces the break they get. They are plagued with injuries. They are actually doing OK considering imo. Rest up, write this season off, and come back healthy for 2027
