  1. give a penality to EK, but how is that a goal, it's absurd… They called goalie interference a couple of games ago for someone bumping into the goalie after he was pushed (was it Sid, I have terrible memory), this was 100 times worse and no call.

  2. The game, to me, looked as if the Penguins were hung over from the after party over the weekend (The 2016 Reunion Celebration).

There was zero pop in our step.

Unfortunately, these games happen but, in my view, very disappointing IF the Penguins weren't recovering from way too much drinking over the weekend.

  3. Sid didnt even break a sweat, really pathetic effort from top guys. At least EK bothered skating back to his goal on that unlucky sequence, rest of the guys couldn't even be bothered.

  4. Ottawa is not exactly a great team, but when they play 100% their game which we saw last night they are frustrating, boring let's say, and just not fun to watch or I'm guessing play against. We got their A game last night. They were up to play us guys, no if ands or buts. Well, on to the Islanders and then Buffalo! Let's go boys (and Dubas 😉 😉)

  5. First off Giroux is a punk! There's no doubt that was goaltender interference it should have just been a penalty or a penalty shot definitely not a goal.

  6. The top line has actually been playing poorly lately, not sure what is going on. Hopefully getting Rust back tonight gives Crosby and Rakell a boost that they have not had since the game in Edmonton.

  7. Hey DK, I am calling out the Olympians on the team. Karlsson had his worst game I think I've seen him have in a Penguin uniform. Its like he was gifting his old team two points. Number two, Ricard Rakell! He is bringing nothing to the rink, he loses every board battle and isn't making any plays. All season he has been spoon fed glorious passes and his finish rate is not good. But last night he was invisible, he had no value at all to the game. Number three…SIDNEY CROSBY! I hate calling out the man……but what the hell Sid? Its been about five games now and he looks checked out or saving himself for Milan. The first line has been the worst line on the ice and is creating very little for quite sometime, and last night besides a flury in the last couple minutes were a non contributing factor all night. The last time I saw him like this after Guentzel was traded and he quit being Sid for a handful of games! This team goes as Sid does, and Sid ain't going and hasn't been going for a while now. I love ya Sid but your effort just isn't good enough!!!!

  8. I hate to say this, but all-in-all NHL referees do a good job compared to other pro sports. They talk to both benches. They only try to control the game if things get more chippy than they want. They have a memory. If there is a penalty they missed, the next ticky-tack little penalty gets called to make up for it. They've never liked to call a penalty shot even if it's obvious.

  9. DK – I will push back a little on the penalty call disparity. Yes, by and large, it's been an issue this season. That said, I maybe saw one penalty missed by the refs last night and the reason there weren't more is simply because the Pens simply didn't play hard enough to draw any.

  10. With regard to the officiating… my beef is with the way the entire game was called. In the 2nd period… when the Sens already had a 3-0 power play advantage… the on ice officials missed a blatant high stick on the Pens, and a blatant hook to the hands by the Sens on Malkin. And we all know that “usually” when a team has a 3-0 power play advantage, the refs will look for phantom calls to even up the power play opportunities. Yet the on ice officials didn’t even call clear and obvious penalties on the Senators in that scenario. That tells me that at least with the two on ice officials last night that there is something going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of.

  11. It’s called a poke check. USE IT! I’m not a Shilovs fan! Fleury used to choke way up on his stick and knock the puck off the player’s blade before they ever knew what happened. The image shows how far down he was choked down on his stick. No wonder he SUCKS at SO.

  12. Not sure how you can complain about a toe pick when Karlsson slashed him across the skate and then he fell. I don't know what they're talking about.

  13. yea Giroux stumbled. Pens should be trained to just mug the player and prevent him from scoring and take your chances on the opposition not scoring on the PP or penalty shot in breakaways like that. They lost one other game this season because of this. Otherwise players will just run over goalies and take the puck with them and score just like what happened.

  14. Bad reffing aside- this is the Pens formula. Win a string of games looking like a real hockey club, then play like d-leaguers at a pickup game. That moronic, idiotic, amateur, mindblowing gaff vomit “passing” game resulted in more passes directly to the tape of the Sens than to eachother. WTAF happens to them? Someone doses the cooler, maybe? They’ve done it before and they’ll do it again.
