A preliminary round game that was never supposed to matter turns into one of the greatest moments in Olympic hockey history. USA vs Russia. Sochi 2014. A shootout. A role player. And a decision that changed everything. This is how T.J. Oshie became a legend.

Great Video! good job
Saw this posted yesterday and tried to watch it but it disappeared. Glad it’s back up.
That was a fun watch. Good times.
Go ‘Wings!
gotta be either a copy or a mandela effect moment cause i swear ive been seeing this video recommended forever
Man, you are just stealing Hockey Psychology’s video. Shame on you’
I had 4 friends at my house and tons of pizza and we were all standing and shaking. We celebrated so loud my neighbor texted to ask if I was okay. What an amazing hockey moment!
Edit: seriously just watching this video gave me those chills and that anxiety again, i remember thinking how could Oshie possibly focus and not be nervous?
This is so stressful wow
Minor thing: the Kings won their second cup in june 2014, so Quick was soon-to-be two time SC champion, but he wasn't just yet by the beginning of the year.
what I remember from this tournament is Canada having the best team defence of any team all time and allowing 3 total goals in 7 games… in Putin's backyard
what medal did the US get in this tourney again? Ohhh right….
It's crappy there won't be a Russian team this year. They could ice a great team and Ovi deserves it.
Russian athletes were doped out of their skulls in every discipline. Everything to make Ruzzia look good.
To USA fans this meant a lot. To USA Hockey fans, this moments just makes us shake our head. What medal did we get in this olympics? That's right we didn't medal at all. Didn't win anyhting yet we look back on this with fond memories? I hate people coping.
Was one of the greatest hockey experiences ever
Go Canada!!
Still think Miller should’ve been the #1 over Quick for that competition.
LMAO no one thinks about TJ Oshie, who cares if you eventually get blown out Finland and dont even medal, just embarrassing haha
Wouldn't say olympic history since none of these teams really did anything but great video with good details… cool stuff, Bro had Ice in his veigns
4:05 that rule has changed under IIHF rules too. If the defensive team moves the goal and puck goes in between the goal posts normal position, goal stands.
America just isnt good at hockey. 2 gold medals in the olympics… theyre the worst team that actually has a chance for gold every olympics
Эти буллиты мы навсегда запомнили…
2014, when hockey was actually fun and tough
PKA podcast talked about this
Yaroslavl Lokomotiv
Would love to see this guy up against Kevin Lankinen – the best shootout goalie in NHL history.
