I think a big part of the problem is that mentally the team knows they're not good enough to win the cup with this roster and they all know it. They can't get or keep a lead, they can't defend against themselves let alone the team their playing, they can't get a key save from a goaltender when they need it and the coach thinks you can win 2 players as well I don't see management really addressing any of the issues.
Politics is getting involved in hockey, again. It always goes against the Oilers when this happens. The NHL is dumb.
It's funny, though, the Canucks owned the Oilers in the 2023-24 regular season, then the Oilers won in 7 games in the playoffs against them, erasing any doubt of whether or not the Oilers can really bounce back against a given opponent. I think from that moment on, in 2024, politics was the only way of stopping the Oilers. So, that's the on-ice officiating, and nonsense coming from the head office. Just ludicrous. This team is too talented to be without a Cup in years. I blame it on the league. It's the fairest argument.

Bako winning with Unger in net stopping 45 shots. Bousch made look like a pylon on one goal. 4th line looked good. Wild looked like a better team and hopefully lessons are learned. PK could not match the skill set. Boys got creamed in the new jerseys but they are growing on me . Leafs up next .
media needs to evaluate jJackson hires…. & Bowman moves; Walman $7m x7yrs, Frederic $3.8m x8yrs, Mangiapane $3.9m x2yrs, along w Nurse/jCampbell… and even the Jary salary w loss of Kulak are serious problems for the fans for years… and signing the Coach for 3 yrs & Bouch for 4 at $10.4 (given the errors) all looks a problem, after Bowman declared how the D is strongest in league – Team does not really have a 2nd or 3rd pair defense that is competitive… ??
