Nice goal by Gridin, everything else that happened this game I could care less about. Hopefully Parekh coming in likely next game will inspire this team more. Gridin & Parekh on the powerplay I'd love too see.

The Sherwood trade is just awful for the Sharks. Only the cup winner looks smart doing a trade like that or a a team that admits they have no idea how to scout and would have just wasted the picks anyway. There was one year the Jets traded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick on 2 rental players in Toffoli and Monahan and I was telling Jets fans how foolish it was at the time of the trades. Many Jets fans made fun of me and said I had no idea what I was talking about and they only won 1 playoff game with both of them and both left as free agents.
When the Stars traded a 1st for Granny and Ceci as rentals I said it was foolish for them unless they win the cup. One Stars fan was even saying it is just a late first like it was nothing and Jason Robertson fell to the early 2nd round. Throwing picks away is still throwing them away.
Even if Grier offers Sherwood 5 mill a year for 3 years he could have just done that in free agency and kept those 2 2nds. It does not matter how good Sherwood is if the sharks do not win the cup this season. Since the Sharks are getting a mid round 1st they could have traded up with those 2 2nds over wasting it on Sherwood. Grier could have traded 2 2nds for a vet he liked who was NOT a rental player. Grier tried to trade for Dougie Hamilton who makes 9 mill a year. New Jersey Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton blocked a trade to the San Jose Sharks during the 2025 off-season using his 10-team no-trade clause.
It will not shock me at all now when Grier does something crazy and unexpected.
The Flames are the 12th best team is goals allowed while being ranked 29th in points as of this moment. Kind of an interesting combo right there but obviously the problem is offense.
