From yesterday: It works against the Penguins to put Chinakov on the Power Play for the remainder season. Why? 1)He's in a contract year 2)He's already shown he can score(especially on a line with a fellow Russian). Salary's are about to EXPLODE with the rising cap. So, we sign him for 2 years x $3-3.5Mil rather than 2 years x $4.5-5Mil if he lights it up on the power play as well. This is a salary-capped league; you need every single advantage you can get. The happy medium: Sign him before the end of the regular season, then put him on the Power Play!
Cant take any team lightly, Avs just lost to Ott Jacket beat TB 2 nights ago
They didn't fire Shero, and ultimately Bylsma until after the following season, when they blew a 3-1 lead in round 2 against the Rangers.
😶
I think it was pretty clear Dubas filled the roster with players that he would trade at the deadline for picks …, everyone is having career years (the Brazeau's etc..)….my biggest worry is the team could be sitting in a playoff spot…and he will make those trades or make lateral trades….not making a trade that will make the team better for THIS YEAR…as much as any future years……I don't think Dubas had any idea that this team would play this well
Adding a solid dman sounds good it would be nice for playoffs 🎉 🎉
DK Please dont curse the boys by EXPECTING a Win…this team had a terrible issue of playing down to opponents under Sullivan. Hopefully Muse doesnt allow that!
👻🐧👻
Don't blame Jerome Iginla. Shero traded for him and Dickhole Dan played him at LW on the 3rd line because of his "toughness".
They should have fired Dan Abysmal after that Boston series when he blamed supernatural forces for keeping the puck out of the net.
They've had a good couple days to recharge and recover from the road trip. This is the time to rack up the points. 🐧🏒🖤💛
Can't wait to beat the rangers and Sullivan😂
Let's not have a repeat against Chicago tonite like the Pens had against Calgary on Jan 10 losing 2-1….everyone expected a win after 6 wins and then….a clunker against a clunker
The other thing that prevented the team from going to the net was Brendan Morrow playing on a split knee cap. He was the most skilled grinding 3rd liner we had, and he was just starting to score more in March.
Keep swarming and keep shooting, and most of all keep winning!
Fun team to watch.
I like that thumbnail.
The schedule in March is brutal, both in terms of number of games AND opponents. They see a lot of teams like Colorado (twice), Carolina (three times), Vegas (twice), Dallas, etc. Even if they are continuing to play well, things could go south in a hurry … so keep banking those points now.
DK, do you think Pens should trade Kulak before the trade deadline? On one hand, it seems as this was the plan from the moment he was acquired. This was the reason why they played him even though they had better options (like Ryan Graves) at the time. And he is a pending UFA. On the other hand, he did somewhat solidified his game recently, and he also has the reputation of being great in playoffs. Do you have any dilemma if he should be traded, and also, is this playoff prowess a real thing or not, with him and in general?
It’s still early, but if the Penguins maintain their current pace towards the playoffs, and the Islanders are right behind them, they will inevitably meet in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Is there a certain type of “pressure” that is placed on Kyle Dubas to improve the roster in order to keep pace with the moves that the Islanders have made recently?
Hey DK, tonight they play Chicago and they are doing so without Rust on the top line. From what i read they are bumping Mantha to play with Sid & Ricard, I may of tried Brazeau first but I'm OK with Mantha. It might be the first time in a decade that Sid has someone north of six feet and 200 pounds playing along side of him. Rust will be gone for three games and I am saying, watch the line improve over this time. Now I am hard on Rust I know, & I do like him but I think he's out of his league on the first line and would absolutely slay on the third line, here he would play his peers and not get outclassed by elite players of the league….or real first liners. Just throwing it out there, Rust had 4 points in his last ten playing with Sid and on the PP, I'm guessing Mantha gets four points in these three upcoming games.
Not to be that person but I’d try to acquire a younger (mid 20s) LHD and flip Kulak.
Thank you DK. Their energy level should be high so keep putting up those points and come out on top. Even in the long run. Great show DK
I've been to France 3 times already. Never been to Japan and would like to go until overtourism ruins it.
Geno-Machino
Ryan Shea has been immense. Having him step up and play as steady as he has, is one of the bigger reasons we have the record we do. He feels very understatedly important to the rest of the year.
