If this team is serious about making the playoffs…. They need better efforts than the past two. With Colorado coming up, I doubt they get pts there. My fear is Gibson falls off and they fall off like they do every year…. Hoping they can get back to business like they had been doing before the LA game.
All the hype aside about Kane surpassing Modano. If they were both Canadians or Modano was this would be relatively minor thing l. Wings fans should be very concerned about this and the previous game
In both they were manhandled and only due to a total fluke bounce on the tying goal they got a point.
The league may want to rethink those camera slots in the glass.Imagine a playoff series or the Stanley Cup being decided on something like that
"Scheduled Loss"? Does that include Colorado Saturday and Monday? Because the Avs are playing insanely good hockey and our chances are slim that we come away with 4 points. Then there's the Mammoth and Canes, both playing far better than Washington, we could potentially lose another 4 points. We could end up being in a wild card fight when the Olympic break starts, or worse…
ESPN broadcast absolutely sucks! They showed lines at the beginning of the game that included Edvinsson on the defensive line, they took FOREVER to call up the replay on the off-sides call, and the announcers were nothing short of annoying.
Larkin has been horrible. Looks lost & has zero confidence.
I'm starting to understand why Stevie Y. Hasn't made any trades yet.. we're just not ready. This game was the first game you can honestly say was a playoff game. The next game against Colorado is going to be more of the same.. I'm not sure what's going on with Larkin maybe his frustration with the team but something's going on with him I've noticed it over the past three games. He wasn't passed the puck two games to go and he just threw his arms up like why. I'm starting to get the idea that we're not going to be able to win a cup with Larkin on this team.

Seider is a machine. In OT there was about 2 minutes left and I saw him wave at the bench as if to say, "I've got the rest of the game here boys".

I'm giving some leeway for the flu, but good Lord this team plays a bad style of hockey. So many inefficiencies in their habits.
Oh and espn loved Kane breaking the record cause they would not stop mentioning it all game.
Guys don't under estimate this teams abiliuty to fall apart and not make the playoffs. Theyre not going to get there by luck or good bounces.Ray L
The second goal, the player never touched the puck and pushed gibsons glove, if you cant push a goalies pads then that should not be a goal regardless of it was frozen or not. Larkin needs to stop chasing the puck in the dzone and stay in position, and they scored 0 pp goals because they were trying too hard to get kane the record. They got goalied and all that other stuff is correctable. And yes I noticed they were sick because their pursuit of the puck and battle level was not the as high as it usually is when they're desperate. Good for washington they got one out of 3 games from the wings, they were more desperate and not sick, who cares. The seider minutes are not sustainable without something bad happening to him, need to either suffer with the other d men playing more or Stevie better get somebody on d soon, because even maclellen is playing like they have 4&1/2 d when 6 are playing.

You could tell Kane was pissed they were trying to force the puck through him. The second PP he got on the bench yelling, looking like he said "Shoot the f***ing puck!"
Every single shooter in the shoot-out beat the goalie, it was just Larkin couldn't beat himself
It has felt like the chase for 500 and the us born record has been a huge distraction to the team
Bertuzzi shouldve been tge captain of the team not larkin. We traded away the wrong player
The team needs more out of Larkin & Debrincat deserved a spot on the olympic team
I get why they wanted to get out of the way. He didn’t want this record hanging over the teams head so they can focus on the season again. You could tell they were more worried about Kane getting the record at times. Now this is all past them and they can focus on hockey and making the playoffs. As much as I get just scoring should be more important than a record, at the same time, you don’t want distractions getting in the way. Especially with hard games like against Colorado coming next. Just my 2 cents
Losing against Switzerland (LA) is hard to take. LA needs to play a defensive game to counter the Wings attack. The Capitals, wow, just fantastic passing scoring plays, right! Only that was right was bad officiating, and luck!!!
