As an on-screen personality I find Sam McKee annoying. He shouldn't argue his point with the others, but negotiate in a constructive manner.
Willy was stupidly offensive, end of discussion. Many of the the fans hate this bad attitude, and have been disappointed that his behaviour doesn't complement his talent. Enough! And really, Sam, you're SO annoying in his arguments — "I'm this but I don't want to be this." Stop acting like you're the smartest guy in the room, Sam! It's not about you.

Here’s my take for what it’s worth. If they go 2-3 or worse over the five games before the break, Pelley needs to get a new GM and coach that can spend February developing a rebuild plan with a clear vision for the type of culture they need build. That culture needs to apply to everyone equally. Everyone needs to back check, everyone needs to hit when it’s needed, everyone needs to win the board battles, everyone needs to be able to take a hit to make a play, everyone’s got to play for the team first. Spell out exactly what behaviors are nonnegotiable. Anyone that’s not on board needs to be moved to get the right people in. Maybe Auston and Willy can surprise me but I don’t think they are up for that. Move them before March trade deadline to teams that want to win Cup this year, in exchange for strong young emerging players that can build us a team over the next few years we can be proud of.
where there is smoke there is fire. clearly something brewing behind the scenes. cracks. call it whatever. If the leafs are serious about winning they need a good slap in the face and wake up.
Really enjoyed the back and forth todays gentlemen. One thing I disagreed with is the role of the GM; he needs to think of what's best in the long term interest of the team. This season is one to try and recoup some assets.

I’m extremely disappointed in all the negativity by a Leaf alumnus. Kyper may lose his pass to MapleLeaf arena. Instead of tearing up the team why don’t you come up with a solution?? As a fan since ‘63 I think we should find solutions instead of buttering Marner’s nuts!!! I believe Treliving is not a good GM and Pelley is no where to be found like he said at the beginning of the season he would be. The problem doesn’t solely reflect on the players but the GM. I may just stop watching for a while in hopes the 3 of you stop tearing up the Leafs and start on upper management. Extremely disappointing.
I will always be a leaf fan. I’ve been a leaf fan since Palmateer. But I lost all respect and hope for this version of the leafs and I think 100% that this version of the leafs will go no where! Treliving is the problem. He loses trades, took a top five team and turned it into a mediocre middle of the pack team. The rest is a byproduct. Matthew’s not a leader, talented player still needs to grow up. Treliving cannot be trusted to make trades or build by selling players. By the way Kyper, Dubas carried the can for a lot of Shanahans decisions, that’s why he wanted autonomy, which he got in Pittsburgh.

We have a trade last year that is going to be almost better than Raycroft for Rask, Brandon Carlo, for Mittlestadt, and the Laffs' first-round pick this year. Best thing the Laffs can do is trade Rielly and bring up Cowan and give him minutes. The interesting thing will be what happens when Austin plays in the Olympics.

Avs fan here. But I feel for you. You're in that "purgatory" place….not bad enough to rebuild but down enough off whatever window you had. Leafs needs to change things, now. Won't be easy. Toronto deserves better. As for leaders, chemistry, etc, I look at the Avs. They have several drivers: Yes, Nate is intense, but he's not alone. Landeskog is a quality leader; it's clear guys look up to him. And so is Toews. Not coincidental the Avs resurgence came when Landy came back, and also not coincidental we've lost games since both he and Toews went down. Makar leads by example (like Sakic did)…effort + skill. I've noticed that when they have a bad game, there's intensity..sometimes angry intensity the next. Unfortunately for you, you caught a little of that on Sunday (Avs were bad against the Flyers Friday). But here's the thing: Leadership and chemistry comes mostly from success. It's a catch-22. Good luck.

Sammy, if I were to listen to your commentary without watching your live stream, I might mistakenly think you are a ten-year-old fans of the Leafs. As Kyper aptly pointed out, a "soft sell" represents the most dumbest strategy; we have observed Auston Matthews for the past decade, and he has conclusively demonstrated that he is not the player who can consistently compete at the highest level or be a game-changer, much like Mitch Marner and William Nylander. They function more as one of the top supporting characters in a film rather than leading stars.
An effective management team should not merely continue to change the peripheral components of their racing cars; they need to overhaul the engine entirely. While the process may be painful for five years, it is a more prudent option than prolonging a situation where the values of players 34 and 88 diminish to nothing. Since 34 & 88 doesn’t consider Toronto as their home , when the team announced a full rebuild, I guarantee they will remove their no trade clause for going to the US cities , especially watching Mitch having fun a Vegas.
Laughton and OEL are the only two veterans worth retaining as the organization embarks on this rebuilding phase; players 34 and 88 should be the ones to go.
