As I write this, the VGK (who absolutely DESTROYED the maple laughs) are LOSING badly 3-0 to the lowly ottawa sena-turds!!! The leafs are a disgraceful, pathetic, bunch of LOSERS! What a brutal effort … I was outside Scotiabank and the Leaf fans look so depressed. Remember Leaf fans, there is help out there …. switch to Sens, Sabres and Habs like I did over 15 years ago when Leafs and Burke (worst G/M in the history of the NHL in my humble opinion – see Kessel, see Tyler Biggs draft over Kucherov as 2 hard-hitting examples) traded 2 prime 1st rounders for him.

Only one response necessary. Tell Matthews the Leafs will not be re-signing him, hand the C to someone else more deserving (hard to choose to be honest), and start playing your younger players over Matthews until he agrees to a trade. I know how to play hardball with this American punk who won't tell us about his injuries or even talk to the media before a key game "Because I don't have to …..". Trade him for picks and prospects to start the re-build. This is the only option. Trust me.

Hey Guys? Sometimes luck has a day off! Its was the Leafs turn, to play when luck went AWOL! Go Canada!

First goal against, Woll probably wants that back. He really should have had that one, his stance was too open. Second one… first of all, we have the same problem I saw so much of last game. Get the puck OUT of your zone before dicking around with it. Then, the guy shoots from the goal line. Woll was trying to see where it was BEHIND him… which means it's up to the defense to help him out. pass goes through the defender to the Colorado player, who shoots it through the defender (who is still just standing there looking stunned) and past Woll, who was looking the other way because he didn't know where it was, because it was behind him. This is a play that calls for some TEAMWORK, but the Leafs' defenders don't seem to know that word.
Second period, after a HOST of heroics by Woll, Drury scores one. Another one where the guy walks in pretty well unopposed and puts it where he wants. Woll probably wants this one back too, he was a bit off his angle, but it was a wicked shot.
Into the third, I have to mention a play that WASN'T a goal… but should have been. 19:06, Colorado gets ANOTHER 2 on 1. Reilly dives at the guy with the puck. Now… the way you're SUPPOSED to play a 2 on 1 is, you prevent the PASS. Reilly didn't do that, but perhaps he thought Tavares was going to do something. Woll makes the save, and the rebound goes to the THIRD man coming into the zone. It was too fast for Tavares to stop it, but where are the rest of the Leafs? Is ANYONE backchecking? Look at the play from behind the net, we get that view at about 7:21. There are THREE Leafs out past the blue line… not ONE is moving his feet. They're all just coasting. Then there's the empty netter. The Leafs DO score, but it took 3 tries.
What I saw here was the same thing I saw last game. LOTS of turnovers, usually in their own zone. Collapsing defense that doesn't DO anything. Shooters making shots that I could save, let alone an NHL goalie (though, Blackwood DID make some incredible saves). LAZY play, no backchecking, no guts.
Leafs need to turn down the suck knob, the same old tune is getting tired.
