  1. Looks like Mackie took that demotion personally. And Bjornfot playing like he's ready to steal Sebrango's job as 7th D πŸ˜‚

  2. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The NHL is looking at this William Nylander incident, per sources. It's possible the Leafs forward will face punishment for flipping the middle finger at the broadcast camera during today's game. Nylander has since apologized, calling it a "moment of frustration."

  3. Good all around game. Bjornfoot getting 2 wasn't on anyone's bingo card. Geting chucky and marchy back seems to have sparked some more consistent play. Mackie looked sharp. Tarasov played well again. Go Cats

  5. I did mention during your stream that they should put Samoskevich on the do not shoot list and while I'm glad he scored, i do think you pump him up far too much and his current position is exactly as it should be.
He generally plays well (minus the scoring) and I've thought he was a younger version of Swaggy… maybe he is a younger version of Lomberg instead

  6. Bjornfot (Checkers All-Star) not only got 2 goals tonight but was the first star of the night. Samo after being at 13.5 expected goals for coming into tonight finally gets a goal, and now jaws can celebrate lol. Now we got to just hope that the other teams in the east start to lose more often lol. On to Utah

  7. Finishing the month with a winning record would be very nice. This was supposed to be their most difficult month and they are handling it as good as we can expect. Can't say the rest of the season will be easier anymore because unfortunately every single Atlantic team is good. Gotta win most of the remaining divisional games in regulation.

  8. Our 4th line was definitely our best line today. Schwindt set up Bjornfot and of course Mackie got a goal. Since we were on a back-to-back, the 4th line hadn't gotten as many minutes yesterday (Schwindt was just slotted in tonight) as the rest of the team, it made sense they seemed to be a bit quicker on their feet. Also, who knew Bjornfot was packing a missile… I'll let that one sit for a moment…

On another topic, I watched the video regarding our cap concerns for this season. When Jones comes back, we'll be 2,030,000 over the cap. The solution proposed was to send down Vilmanis, Bjornfot and Sebrango to the AHL. As a counter to that, I think I'd rather send one of Sebrango OR Bjornfot down and trade Boqvist (for likely only a pick as a cap dump. Kind of like when we traded Duclair to San Jose for a 5th and Lorentz). That would clear up a little more than the roughly 2 million we'd need to bring Jones off LTIR, and we wouldn't have to risk Sebrango AND Bjornfot. Of course, we could just send Vilmanis down and keep both Bjornfot and Sebrango up, but I don't think it makes too much sense to have two healthy scratched D-men. It's tough to decide which of the two to risk, but I feel Bjornfot has been making a strong case for himself since being given a chance in the lineup and today was just the culmination of that. I feel with Sebrango that he looked his best when we first got him and has slowly tapered off since then (not bad, just not nearly as good). So, our healthy scratches when Jones comes back following this idea would be Bjornfot and Kunin (Sebrango is sent down and Boqvist is traded). Of course, Gadjovich is coming back around this time too and his money already counts so we would have a second forward scratched as well.

I'm just not sure I see the value in keeping Boqvist for the playoffs as a second substitute after Rodrigues. Is he really that much of a better option than Vilmanis, Kunin, or even Gregor that you can justify his 1.5 million-dollar price tag? I personally can't. I have no personal issue with the guy, but man that contract is such an eyesore on a team of absolute bargains. But I do love the idea that in the playoffs, Rodrigues can sub into our top 9 seamlessly if anybody gets hurt (except Samoskevich or whoever is on the left wing with Bennett and Tkachuk. In that case we could put Greer there and throw Kunin or somebody else in Greer's spot on the fourth line. You could also just sub Vilmanis onto that line. The point is Boqvist is unnecessary here). Rodrigues is the perfect Swiss army knife as we've said before. He can play either wing or center. I just can't justify that same logic with Boqvist when we have other guys that I feel provide the same if not more benefit for cheaper. I Just wanted to give my thoughts on that.

  9. Apparently the Leafs had 2 scouts at our game tonight and have been sending them for awhile. Who do you think they are trying to grab from us this time?

  10. Just need to clean up d zone transitions and clears and they will be set for a solid run. I do not understand why they always hold onto the puck right at their blue line for 3 seconds as it gets stripped away from them, or they barely chip it out, and it gets held in.

  11. Tarasov is playing GREAT right now he's 4 -1 in his last 5 starts…Paul let's give him more games…Please !!
