Sometimes I wish a player would sacrifice the rest of his career and just deck one of these god awful refs. It's like being officiated by people who hate you. There should be ref fights so they actually officiate the game right. Serious.
Just a reminder that refs are not actually held accountable and game management in and of itself is a poorly disguised method to affect game outcomes, most certainly influenced by sports betting. The only thing close to accountability and discipline with any semblance of authenticity can be gleaned from an excerpt by a former ref on the TSN website wherein discipline is said to be handed out behind closed doors and that fines are immaterial, with an example being a donation to a charity. Even the hot mic incident from a few years back didn't result in a termination, just that the ref was reassigned off of any remaining games while still being able to retire as a long-term employee that stays eligible for pension. League executives frequently play favorites with teams, especially like the Vegas Golden Knights that offer high potential market growth and returns. The NHL is the closest thing to a bush league and if you're in with the group that can fix games, sports betting can become especially lucrative.
This year has been bad. The Olympic schedule has players and officials stretched out. Not saying that mashing a guy's face into the dasher is cool. Fu€k, no! But I suspect they're using more refs and some that aren't as experienced.

As an Oilers fan, the refs have always had a hate on for Taylor! It is disgusting that the NHL does nothing about these biased refs!!!
